Car-spotting thread

There you go @qclabrat.....I think thats what I would do....i mean no I wouldnt let @Magic touch it....but fly out there and drive it home. It would be fun...for the first 2 hours...then you will want to set it on fire.
Yeah, I'm with you, cross country trip would be a blast, even MrsQ was game. After getting shipping quotes and haggling a price for the car, I mapped out a route, about 3000 scenic miles, 200-250 miles a day. Unfortunately I just don't have time to take off from work at the moment and sleeping in a different hotel room mostly in the south and mid-west doesn't sound like the best idea right now. Besides driving a 50 year old convertible which I've never test driven seems like a bad choice as well. Though to be honest, this was the real reason (remember my posts on installing A/C?), I'd either lose 20 pounds or look like a tomato afterwards...

nope, my other cars are covered thru esurance.

ya I have yet to have to make a claim, other than I had the car towed home once when the valve cover gasket blew out and I figured id use my roadside assistance rather than hosing my engine down with oil for 15min.

Esurance? You couldn't afford The General?

Found this on a sim racing site I follow so it's not a car I spotted but I thought the auto-blip on downshifts was pretty cool on a manual car for those times when you can't be bothered to heel and toe. Car sounds amazing too!

The gt4 has auto blip from the factory and I completely forgot about it until I figured out that something was fishy with my heel and toe blips lol. It works pretty well and it's nice that it can be deactivated. I installed a Auto-blip on a 987 boxster and the thing was a hoot to drive. Even messed around with double clutching just for fun and it was spot on.

The GS has this and even though I like doing it on my own, I turn it on all the time. Fun to have it done automatically without thinking during normal driving.

My F83 has this too but can be deactivated in Sport + mode. I generally prefer to rev match myself on downshifts but agree with others it’s a nice feature to have when you’re lazy (or trying to row like a hero 😎)

Got some quotes from U-ship a few weeks back and most were in the 2700 range. Sent in another quote request today and the average in now 3000. Also called Horseless and they gave me a competitive price. Will likely go with them. Need enclosed so the prices are higher, was yours open?

Call Carla at Bullseye Auto Transport. She’s great to work with. It’s been a few years, but I shipped from remote Montana for $1400, enclosed trailer.

Now I just wait for the shipper to schedule.
We'll just play guess the car in the interim, though the fan wire hanging bothers me already

Another question on insurance, though the shipper is insured, is insurance needed while it sits with the dealer till it's picked up? It will only be a week or two but I'd hate to be out of luck.

hmm, seems to be something wrong with the transmission....MANUALS don't have oil pans 🙂

Pontiac Firebird based on the unibody. Came with a V8 and in a convertible and automatic.

2.5 more hours with the painter today tweaking the fenders hood and doors... Not done yet but getting there... Realized my hood hinges are shit and I need to find better repops than the ones I have.... But got some more stuff done...

Many years ago I was friends with this guy and his brother who where very much into Mustangs. Mainly ‘67 and ‘68. They had built matching copies of GT/CS’s and a GTA. During that period it appears they amassed quite a bit of parts. Looks like now the brother has been working on clearing out the parts.

He has a ton of part on Craigslist if your looking for anything.

Looking to upgrade seatbelts since I'll be driving this more than to just car shows. Also the rears don't even have any at all.
Found these as an aftermarket kit for fronts. Anyone upgraded from lapbelt to something different? Considering harness options, but looks like a pain to get in/out and also interferes with the rear seating.

funny I emailed him several times over the years looking for parts but he never had what i needed. 99% of mustang parts you can get as repro....of that id say 80% of what I have gotten has been good...that last 1% that you can get tho...nobody ever has it or they want absurd amount of money for it.

@qclabrat I bought a kit like this to upgrade my fronts to a retractable 3 point set up....in reality, probably makes me less safe in the car as if i ever was in an accident in this shit box, its probably best to be throw out of it. this is a kit that cjpoiny parts puts together, im sure someone makes something for your car. you should have a roll bar in the car if you are going to use a 4/5 point harness to mount the shoulder belts....properly anyway. Not sure what you would have to do to put a 3 point belt in the back seat of an old car, im sure it would be an ass pain.

Nobody wants to be in the back seat of those cars!!!
if it is a vert, have a custom boot made to cover everything back there.
