Car-spotting thread

Word is Acura can't sell the new NSX at $200,000. They are now leasing them for $1350/month for 36 months with $0 down. 36 months, 10K miles a year.

Anyone want to go halfies with me? Alternating months? You can almost daily it with that mileage. You need to be a clean person (sorry Luke) and must love spending time detailing.

im SHOCKED. A GTR (not into these, but you figure the same people would be) is as fast if not faster in most categories and $90,000 cheaper.

man this is absurd....buy something that has some sole to it and that you might get some return on your investment in 3 years. I mean what is the NSX's appeal? Its 100% numbers...0-60, 190mph top speed, electronic gadgets to make it (at 3800lbs) turn better times at the ring....Certainly not looks/sound when you compare it to other $200,000 cars...like say a Mclaren.

I would put bobs car seat in it and let him eat ritz crackers all day

A GTR is soulless and automated in exactly the same manner as the NSX, plus its dated now, just about everything is faster, even the lowly Vette. Also, the DSG in a GTI is more durable than the paper mache transmission in the GTR. Someone in my area has a GTR that they gold-plated and put a big wing on, it looks ridiculous, they must think they're Saudi princes or something. I need to get a picture of it next time I see it.

All of this.^ The new NSX and future Supra make me sad. They don't make cars like they used to. I'd pick a GTR over these, but they also make me sad as I'm a huge Skyline fan and they soiled it. A rear mount transmission with two drive shafts is dumb.

Lol at the crackers.

it has been a while. Nothing to interesting going on right now. I prepped the entire inside of the car last week to be coated with Lizard skin ceramic insulation....something different than doing dynamat. Other than that, panels are block sanded...waiting for it to be actually painted.

Sorry when it come to new cars I only buy American now. No Axis powers vehicles in casa Rick!

Honestly the most compelling reason to lease one is you don't like it. Compelling, for sure.

In all seriousness, it's the most realistic opportunity to have a supercar. And Chris Harris raved about it.
 
No pictures - my wife chatted up Mario Andretti at the airport in St Pete today (PIE) -
He goes mostly unnoticed at 5'2" or so, and a nice tan. He is 77ish, and looks much younger.
Very happy to talk about his grandson, Lucca.
We see him once or twice a year. She just ended up next to him in line, and couldn't help herself.

Reminds me...everyone should watch 24 hour war...Mario talking about driving the GT40 at 240mph at LeMans...in 1967 with 1967 tires...man those guys had balls of steel. @1sh0t1b33r when you are wondering why Shelbys name is still on ford products in 2017.
 
Took the shelby to signature detailing in hillsborough (highly recommended btw) for an Xpel tweak. They had a 2017 liquid grey Ford GT in there, wow what a gorgeous car. I took alot of pics but sadly i was sworn to not post any. Greg had a pro photographer there taking pics so i assume they will be on his website. Greg said tthe guy has a 1st gen GT too.

Too bad, would have been a nice progression of pics from a shit mustang to a state-of-the-art mustang to the ultimate Ford.
