Car-spotting thread

Checked out this Plymouth Fury today. I forgot about the "tech" where gearshift is done via buttons instead of a shifter. This way you can fit 4 people wide bench seats?

It's looooong. I had to look it up to compare to the 1976 Fury which my family had. 1976 was 8" or so even longer which blows my mind. I remember my Ford Tempo at the time bumper to bumper was the same as the windshield to bumper on the Fury.

Friend of mine offered me a ride, then offered for me to drive her car to my house. Was like driving a really nice enclosed lawnmower. Even if @UtahJoe would crush it with a monster truck. But in reality a Beetle should be worth 4k, maybe 5k in perfect condition in my mind. I'm not even looking at prices as I know they're 10X what I'd be willing to pay.

Like I have mentioned previously....when I was a teenager I worked at a VW/Porsche repair shop.....I used to drive them often, as well as the VW bus we had as our parts running vehicle. Worst fucking pieces of shit I have ever had the displeasure of driving. Fully loaded 18 wheelers used to pass me on the drive up Parleys summit from SLC to Park city and that was a 6% grade up to 9400ft. Then we finally got rid of the air cooled (actually oil cooled, but whatever) POS and got a new water cooled one with like 75 horsepower....hooray....It made it up the canyon once then blew a head gasket and left me on the side of the road.

I mean all remember what Ralph Nader said about the Corvair.....but heres what he said about the bus/beetle
the most hazardous car currently in use in significant numbers in the United States” and said that the VW Microbus was “so unsafe” that it should be barred from the road.

Guy was 1000% correct

Yeah, but think of my use case. I drive no more than 20 minutes pretty much anywhere. I have been on an actual highway with my car once since moving here.

I wouldn't ever consider those micro buses. Those I don't understand at all.
