Can I run Sram X-Sync 11s narrow wide with SRAM AXS Flat top 12 speed chain?

need a new front chain ring, wondering if i can scoop a 11 speed junt for cheap and still use it. seeing mixed reviews in my research and of course sram says no...

somewhat related... I had luck with a KMC 12 speed chain on the following config: sram 12 speed AXS X-sync 1x chain ring, grx 11 speed rear derailleur, sunrace 11 speed cassette. Seems the KMC chain places nicely with both 11 and 12 speed set-ups
