Bring a Trailer - OMFG or On Topic

Bro had a brand new one. It was like 20k. But people are going bananas for them now. seller would get 9-10k easy for it just cleaning it up and listing it but BaT requires work and participation. No one wants to work for a sale. Just some shady pics and no description.

I drove it for a year after bro. It is a fun car. Think sold it for like 6k with 130k miles. Range on Bat is 10k to 30k+

hartshorne aint in south jersey, thats still the northern half of the state

that isn't the way it works.
Anything south of the Raritan river or south of route 1 or south of 295, is south,
the gap between rt 80 and rt 78 is the southern half of north Jersey.
everything in between rt 78 and the northern border of south Jersey as described is central jersey.

That 11k is probably what the sale price was brand new. No way someone's paying 18k for a 25 yo civic
Oh yes someone will. There are ridiculous levels of nostalgia for 90's front wheel drive cars. You should see what Integras go for. I think the target audience probably came up driving front wheel drive. I came up driving rear wheel drive and manual, so have 0.0 levels of interest in 25+ year old front wheel drive cars (even though I daily a fwd car). If I were forced to choose something out of Honda World, I would be more of an NSX or S2000 guy, probably the 2 best cars they ever made.

Seems like there's ridiculous levels of nostalgia for 90's anything. I'm on the hunt for an E36 M3 coupe and even beat-up examples with 200K are going for low 20s. Less than 100K and you're looking at 25-30K easy.

Not that I'm surprised. I heart vehicles from the 90's.

People's nostalgia makes them do crazy things. My first 2 New vehicles were an 84 then 87 VS Scirocco. Some of these have gone for ridiculous prices on BAT. Rather buy a newer Porsche than an overpriced memory.

Thats not how map reading and geographic descriptions work, rt 78 isnt even south n-s center line of the state, but if its on the internet it has to be true AMIRITE?

Back then the E36 and B5 S5 were the cars that I sweated, but could not afford. At this point though, I'd rather make the reach for a C5+ Vetter over either of those. In reality, I'm going to hold out and stretch for a 718 with a 4.0.

Any newer Porsche will perform better, be more reliable, and hold its value more.

i dont get it, but like you i am a large displacement rwd, manual trans type. FWD generally drive like crap IMO and those cars were not selling for much more than hes asking new (KBB says ~18k was full on with every option, which seems stupid expensive to me for a freaking econobox 25 years ago).

In the world of FWD though, Honda executed it the best. They actual had real suspension and tuning. If you were into FWD performance, Honda was the best you could get at the time. You can argue that they still are.

Funny story, I have a relative who is a retired engineer from Mercedes Benz. When I asked him why Benz never went all in on FWD, he said "Its only good for pulling you out of the mud".

Love it, looks like a great spec. If you ever venture up near High Point State Park, reach out, we have some hidden twists..

I also host a 150 car Audi/VW/Porsche driving event every Fall, would be great to have you try to join!

Post up the details when you know. I hit up 23 and Hawks Nest a few times a year.

Where did you grow up?

As someone who grew up in Morris county, South Jersey is below 78. Nothing below the highway but sand and casinos.

Meanwhile I worked with very south NJ people who considered Trenton North NJ.

you already know the answer to that question, grew up in Morris country (kinnelon to be specific), 78 is well within the bounds of north jersey, as is the driscol bridge.
