Biggest loser

I’m sitting at 165.0. The last two days my weight crept up a bit as I wasn’t as active with the rain and family schedules being crazy. I commuted to work today, which is good as it’ll cap off my week with a 3.5 hour day of riding(1:45 each way). With that I’ll be making up for the less active days.

Next week is spring break so I’ll be away for a bit enjoying the sun and enjoying some hard earned rewards. I know I’ll gain a bit but that’s part of the plan. I’ll get back to my happy place and continue the journey.

Week 13

Start: 208.3
Current: 189.4
Diff: 18.9
Last week: -.6
Weekly: -5.9, -1.3, -1.6, -2.8, -1.8, -1.1, -1.6. -0.8, +1.4, +1.4, -3.3,-.9,-.6
Goal: Low 170s

Broke through the 190 barrier! Will again take this as a positive.
Just the result of slight lifestyle changes that are taking the weight off.
Much less drinking, working a bit more, not grazing all day.
I'd like to get more bike time in - even some lighter spinning to recover after working
on a ladder or carrying stuff.

Looking forward to joining the -20 club soon.

My w1f3 said I looked skinnier. Bonus!
My nice clothes still don't fit.

E2M program Round 2, Week 5, Day 5

Checking in a day early because we're not bringing the scale on a camping trip.
Diet
Had a hungry week, but stuck to the plan. Ate more fruit this week than usual which was allowed. Next week will be different. Going camping this weekend and sticking to the plan as much as possible. Will slip in a few more adult beverages while sitting around the fire.

Exercise
Did all the circuits this week M/W/F. Finished off the 11wk Time Crunched Cyclist plan last week. Easy spins only T/Th. Going to take it easy this weekend camping, just doing some hikes, relaxing, reading and looking at a lake.

Weight
1/2/22 Starting weight = 235.4
4/8/22 Current weight = 193
Diff: weekly down 1.4, total lost = 42.4
Week 5 isn't over yet and sticking to the plan thru Sunday. Week 6-8 will be strict on eating and exercise if I want to get to 50lbs lost. Just 7.6lbs away.

Wife weighed in this morning and she's down 1.4lbs as well. Down 7.6 this round, total loss of 21.8lbs and also 7ish lbs from her goal.
Holy shit, that is amazing. Great work!

Sunday weigh in: 176. -5 this week -29 total since 12/29.
Goal achieved! Never thought I’d get there, and realized along the way how much I was drinking weeknights too; so double jam bingo.

-5 despite a bad week. next week looks bad too. Seeing Doctare Tomorrow, so hopefully all this losing I’ve been doing does something. Remaining optimistic.

I think there is still some meat on the bone, so to speak, even here at what I thought was goal. We’ll see. Boat will probably splash soon, so forget about ahem ahem.

I lost 5lbs/month, Jan-March 2022, and plateaued. I’ve since settled in to ~1lb/week and been 110% committed to my 5:30am workouts followed by stretching and flexibility. Relying on the treadmill and body-mass exercises, I have almost completely abandoned pedals in this training. The only bike I’m riding is my 20-inch, every day at lunch (weather permitting), and I have not been this happy since I turned down a General Bicycle sponsorship in ‘86. #bikingisfun

Missing the days of weight flying off, Definitely not happening that way anymore. Still seeing recomposition occurring and getting stronger on all my lifts. Resting heart rate has dropped by 25 bpm from the start of all this and I'm having to work way harder now if I want to get that heart rate up while exercising. I've been Incredibly hungry which sucks but I've been combating that with eating massive amounts of leafy greens and super low calorie snacks To fill me up and keep the deficit going

E2M program Round 2, Week 6, Day5

Another early check-in day early because off for Good Friday and have a 50th b-day this evening and my Dad's 80th tomorrow.
Diet
Still sticking to the I.F. meal plan and drinking more that a gallon of water a day. Think I'm drinking more black coffee daily to get me through the hungry urges in the morning before my 1st meal. Will need to be careful not to fall off plan the next 2 days with the birthday parties we will be attending. Cheat meal will be the food at my Dad's party. I don't know if it's because I've been regular with Allegra, but seasonal allergies don't seem to be bothering me much this spring. Wondering if it's the meal plan?

Exercise
Up early on my day off today to do the Friday circuit, then going to head out for a short ride on the new bike after a shorter stem install. Hitting Wissahickon tomorrow moring for a longer ride.

Weight
1/2/22 Starting weight = 235.4
4/15/22 Current weight = 189.6
Diff: weekly down 3.4, total lost = 45.8
Unexpected big drop this week and within 5lbs of my goal of 50lbs. lost. Per my Garmin Vivoactive 4 measurements, my 4week avg RHR is below 50bpm, stress levels are pretty low and I have a BMI under 30. Probably not sleeping enough hours, but I do get deep sleep during those hours. Going clothes shopping today because I'm starting to look ridiculous in some of my clothes. Basically have to buy a whole new work wardrobe and need more skivvies that are the correct size. Finding t-shirts buried in the drawer that were tight now fit. All my shorts are too big as well. Most of my pants were 40s, some 38s, but they're all too big. Wife picked up some shorts that are 36s, but will be returned for 34s.

Wife is down a little today for a total loss of 22.2lbs. She's up early as well to do the circuit and go for a run.

Just awesome.

Don’t forget to adjust your Max HR and other stats in any of the tracking or exercise programs you use. ie I had to adjust Strava and Fitbit apps for some base settings.

And Keep one of the old pair of pants or shorts like I did so you can put them on once in a while to remind yourself how well you did and where you came from. 👊🏻

Thank you, and thanks for the suggestions. Need to do a test for the new max HR. Planning to keep some of the clothes around.

January 1, 2022: 253.8#
April 8, 2022, my wedding day: <235#

253.8# represents me with my contacts in. Clydesdale class. Over the summer I somehow managed to get down to 242# and I felt lightning fast on the bike. Then it slowly went the other way. Scale sits on the same 4 tiles. Considering a smart scale. Not there yet.

CICO (Calories In v Calories Out) is a always a good start. Not a fad, just a simple concept. I like to cook, I even more like to eat. If my mind is busy all day, I don't eat nearly as much as when I'm bored or stuck at my desk. Need to cook better options.

I'm giving Dry January a go. My road bike is setup in the basement with my weights. Need to find a good bench. Been trying for 3 days a week in the cave. Prior to today, this week is zero. Been doing more projects.

Hoping this thread helps keep me honest. This may morph into a blog post as its something I considered starting a while ago, but wasn't working on a bathroom or have a witty title.

Here's to you all. Lets get it in 2022.

So at my heaviest in the week of Christmas I was 256. The morning of my wedding 4/8 I hit my goal. Was down to 235.8 Later on I was down an additional 1/2 from the morning routine. I've since changed scales and its good. Feels good to be 20# and stuff fitting better.

I also gained a little weight on the left hand. Silicone cause you know, dont want to lose a finger at work. Honeymoon next week. Hopefully its not to much in the gain category.

Everyone else keep up the good work. New bike purchase in a few weeks will help keep up the momentum

Week 14

Start: 208.3
Current: 189.2
Diff: 19.1
Last week: -.2
Weekly: -5.9, -1.3, -1.6, -2.8, -1.8, -1.1, -1.6. -0.8, +1.4, +1.4, -3.3,-.9,-.6,-.2
Goal: Low 170s

A little disappointed with the results, but it was a good fitness week.
Two long TM days, and a fun ride with @mattybfat yesterday left me hungry!
Crushed a couple slices of meatball pizza (TY Matty!) then got home and hammered
baked ziti and meatballs. Gut isn't reacting well this morning.

I did weigh myself yesterday morning 187.9 - so somewhere in the middle of there and this morning I supposed.
Maybe next week!

And Spring Break is coming to a close. I haven't weighed myself since I left for spring break, which I was at my goal of 165.0. This past week I was at an all inclusive in Mexico, so I was waiting for a decent rebound - which I need to allow myself! I have done so well losing the weight, this was part of my reward. Besides, how the hell could I be so good with everything available?!?!?! The first couple of days I tried not to extend myself so much, but then I needed to give in to a little extra dessert and cocktails. With a week of extra consumption, I was giving myself 5 pounds. There was even a scale in the hotel room which I needed a break from. Then, as I approached the scale today, I got nervous as Monday's are a little heavier anyway. So fully expecting to see some low to maybe mid 170's, I hit the scale and was pleasantly surprised. 169.8. I'll take it. I'll be back to my previous diet today and will continue to get back to that 165 and keep going beyond, as long as the body allows.

Will be checking in later in the week with a weight update. Shared this on my socials today, so sharing it again here.

Wife and I have been following the fitness program from E2M Personal Training since the beginning of the year and have seen amazing results. Real food meal plan, no supplements and exercise. Down 46lbs so far to a weight I haven't seen since about 1988. 1st pic is 01/02/22, 2nd pic is 04/15/22.

I'm not getting paid for this, just spreading the word. Sign-ups for the next 8wk round open Thursday, 04/28/22 and starts on 05/02/22. Message me if you have any questions.

Spring break is starting to wear off thankfully! Previous low was 164.8. I'm at back at 167.2 this morning. I've been hungry trying to transition back to my regular diet, but a 4 hour ride Monday didn't help. That leaves me hungry the next day for sure. I'm back to the habits that have worked. I'll be riding and eating well straight through the weekend, so maybe next week I'll get to see a new low. Kudos to those that have stuck with it!
