Autumn Leaves

not to derail this thread, but we only did about 1/2 mile section in from the terminus (the "riverside walk" trail in the park). i am looking to do the whole thing when we go back there next year.

That is about as far as I made it. The water was fairly high in some spots, and my sister was having trouble so we turned around. Its an amazing place. I am jealous of you guys, hiking down the whole way must be awesome, just pray for no rain...😎

if the overnight camping trip and 2 days of hiking in a river don't sound appealing to your buddies, you can walk a good ways up past the "do not walk any further" signs to the lower narrows, which are astounding. loads of people do it. just bring a change of shoes/socks/shorts, as all of them will be very wet. and don't try it in sandles. i'll attatch a pic i took of the lower narrows below, as it was taken in late autumn and is absurdly colorful.

where is that picture from?

zion national park in springdale, utah. taken on a two day backcountry hike in a river through a canyon. a trip i highly reccomend EVERYONE take before they die.

rocknrollgirl, it's there. it's in the same bar as the B I U

i'm looking at it right now. if you look to the bottom of the page you're reading, in the "quick reply" box, you should see it. if you don't have them online somewhere though, click the paper clip in that same section, and attatch the photo to your message.

I guess because of the strangely warm autumn we've had, there's very little color in central Jersey. Where I am, east of 6 Mile Run, the trees are still about 75% green. Even 6 Mile has very little color to what you're showing Anrother.

BTW, you've got a heck of a view out your front door.

Well,
Either I am a complete idiot...very possible, or there is something strange about my computer set-up. I do not see the icon in question or a paper clip icon. I am in the quick reply box and I do see Bold, italics or underline symbol either.

Is it because I am on a laptop or is there some other thing I am missing?

OK, so I just popped on to another forum that I fequent and checked out the set-up. I see all of the font tools and the picture icon when I post a reply. Not here.

When I post on here I have a space for title and message and nuttin' else.

Hmmm......

don't know what to say rocknroll, i'm on a laptop too. wierd. perhaps one of our esteemed computer nerds can detangle this debacle.

rosey, i'm truly spoiled with scenery where i live/work.

got it!

scroll all the way to the bottom, and choose the standard editor, show extra options(something like that) setting.

You should be able to go advanced view as well and see them? Ruth, you've posted pics before. What happened?

Viola!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a tool bar!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Anrothar. I never would have found that.

Norm, I posted them before. You tried to walk me thorugh this remember? After the third pm, I was to ashamed to admit that I had no frickin' idea where the little mountain thingy was.

So I posted them as thumnails. I like it better when you can insert the picture.

Thanks.
Now I have to get my camera out. Our leaves are just changing down here.

well every file i select to upload it tells me it is to big
owhell i tried may be next year.

I had a good weekend ride in mahlon lots of leaves on trails makes it very interesting.

jim, resizing is easy in paint, which comes with all windows equipped computers. click start, then go into accessories to find it. once in there, open the file you want to resize. at the top, click 'image', then 'stretch/skew'. in the 'stretch' box, type 75 in each, and see if that brings it down to size. just be sure to click 'save as', and rename the file(i usually just ad 'sm' to the end of a picture i shrink). if you just click save, you will never have the image in the original size again.

todays way beyond prime fall color involves some wildlife. first a red tailed hawk atop the lights at one of the ballfields i take care of, then a couple of bear cubs pigging out on acorns, with mama and the third twin further up the hill out of sight.
