Anyone else feel that?

I saw those planes that day. I was working in Ridgefield Park and we were looking out the window towards the smoking buildings. I can't remember if it was after the second plate hit but two fighter jets few over our campus in a hurry. That wasn't a very happy fighter plane sighting for me.

Related to this the closest I ever saw fighters was a few days after 9/11. My son had a soccer game in Hillsborough and two F16s came roaring directly overhead really low, heading for NYC. Actually at that point it made us feel a little better to know those guys were patrolling the skies

speed of sound is 761 mph, they now have maglev trains close to 400 mph, may not need to fly to hit supersonic in the near future. I've been on the one from Beijing to Shanghai which tops out over 300 mph and that's already fast as heck. By comparison the Acela can only max at 165, but it's the tracks not trains limiting
actually the limiting factor is the government. the regulations on trains in the US is mind bendingly stupid. the reason we can't have fast trains in the US is because of the INSANE safety regulations. It's literally impossible to build a fast train here.
