Allaire Conditions

6-8" at my house. Headed to the trail in thirty. I will give an update in an hour or so.

Yesterday had 3" on the ground by nightfall.

hey Chris, can you go do several laps on the skis and pack it down nice for us 26ers? Going to go check waves on the bike in the meantime.

Ok homies. 300 yards around the main lot is inundated with foot traffic. 5-8" throughout the park, including the unplowed lot.

Snow is light, not very wet.

Drifts are present, up to 12" and mostly in the single track and twisty sections.

Hospital road is plowed, but hasa light layer of snow and ice.

No other bike traffic seen

Pearl, it was the bomb dot com.

All seriousness, until it gets packed down, those trails be fat town.

South of the airplane field has some drifts and is pretty much 10" deep.

Good news is there are a few people walking in snow shoes breaking trail, but mostly near the lot.

Sleders are in the basin behind the hospital road lot, so that may get packed down and turn to ice.

Rode 4" dillengers today and did okay. 5" dillengers or bud/Lou would have a blast in the Low gears.

Hey Guys!

Yeah, new Beargrease.....I have been in love since I saw one in the spring. The longer rides/fat bike porn encouraged the purchase.

The Moonie is for sale (on this board and eBay), I am going to rock 4" tires this year, but word on the street is I can run 5" Dillingers on the 65MM rims.

Not going to lie, I did miss the weight of the Moonie and the Bud/Lou in the deeper snow today.

I did not miss it in the 4" of snow yesterday though🙂

Did you get your fatty yet?

Is there a bike in this pic? Other then 2 fat wheels test is camouflage. Purchase some snowshoes for cross training and trail packing...

🙂 I am going to do all the tamping I can with the tires!!!'

Looking forward to meeting you at Marty's! (I have a feeling I already have, just need to put a face with the user name)

Has anyone been out in the last day or two? Is it rideable for a non fatty? maybe I should make that low fat or fat free....

Rideable by a fat free bike?

I was out yesterday, several trails have been tamped down enough to get by on a standard mtb. It should be noted these trails have a soft 2" base that will eventually turn to ice.

Glass and steel man have been lightly tamped thanks to our xc ski friends.

Tiger, micks, and the airplane field loops are pretty much fat only.

Lots of foot traffic, so get ready for some bumps.

Have at it!

Was at Allaire XC sking yesterday(Thursday). The trails closest to the lot are packed really well and are rideable on 29er. The further you get from the lot the less traffic that has been on the trails. The result is narrow path and softer snow further out. I was only the 2nd person on Tiger Woods, there were a set of footprints on trail but no bikes. Until there is more foot/ski traffic on Tiger the snow will be too soft even for fatbikes.

You could give this place a go Saturday but I would avoid Tiger on a bike, unless you want to walk most of it.

Ruth, why wouldn't you head further south where there is less snow? Why battle snow at Allaire.

Snow is icing up hardcore. Micks, glass, fire road, airplane outer loop, switchbacks, IMBA, blind, and steelman have a nice packing to ride. Tomorrow morning should be packed! Once this thaws tomorrow afternoon it will be a mess, but it looks like it will be short lived with snow on the way.
