Allaire Conditions

Be careful out there! Lots of debris down and at least 4 trees that I saw.
Entrance trail
Switchbacks
Blind
Hog bog
Right across from the Trinity Bible church, where you go into the WMA up the hill--blocked by a very large tree down in the trail. Cleared it with my folding Corona saw. Lot of other smaller downed trees blocking the trails in the WMA and out in Briz. Cleared all of them yesterday!

Tree down at the back entrance of hog bog partially blocking the trail at the little root drop. I ripped off some smaller branches yesterday between raindrops to make it passable. Gonna need some saw work to clear the rest.

I'm OK without the work time. I actually put in a lot of work in the summer months-keeping the trail clear in the WMA between Birch and the WMA driveway off Ramshorn and the connector trail to Brice Park. The trails get overrun with sticker bushes, etc. Not sure if we are supposed to be doing anything in the WMA, but I only clear out sticker bushes, etc hanging in the path of the trail. Do some similar work out in Briz too, which was a bit of a mess after the storms.

The reason we record the work is we get credit ($) from the state for every hour. That helps fund tool purchases, etc.

I know a guy who used to do some of that. Those areas are technically no fly zones and do not apply to the maintenance/logged hours deal. WMA trails are only available to cycling at certain periods of the year.

The area between Hospital Road/Allenwood road seems to be mixed responsibility between the towns and the park (camp area) - not sure this applies either.

Logged hours applies to the trail areas within the boundaries of Hospital Road, Atlantic Ave and Swuankam Allenwood Road.

The tree entering steelman is cleared. Big tree down in Brisbane. See the pics below. (It’s too much for my little hand saw.)

Brisbane is my twice weekly ride, that looks familiar, is that out by the stunt pit near the end of West 18th, or along the fencing on 195--I see the interchange, but can't place where that is. I can hit that with my 10" folding Corona saw. Nice soft pine.

Out by the yellow pool rocks. Not sure if that’s a good landmark.

Could not find it. I'm not good with the names of all the segments. Usually ride the trail that sort of parallels West 18th, then out to the open field behind the big garage on the highway, then parallel to 195, wind through the swampy area along 195, out to the fire road, over the Mill Run drainage, and back along I-195 and back out to the fire road and to the disc golf course.

Impromptu JORBA trimming session today some notables with Strava Names:

- Crank it Up
- Segment trail between Tomacs Drop/Sandpit and the Blind Trail
- Half of Micks/M7
- Dip Quick
- Blue Bayou

More to come!

Stop destroying jump features that have existed in Allaire for years. If you don’t like them or they are beyond your skill level then do not ride those features. Thanks

I was there today and saw what you mean. It's a shame! So many bikers enjoyed jumping into the pit jumps and now it's not an option. The lip was off the beaten path and didn't block any trails so I don't get why someone felt the need to destroy it.

First some idiot cut down a tree because they couldn't ride through 2 trees on a trail. Then a dope or two cut out a bunch of roots near the pit to "smooth" out the trail, which by the way eroded the trail completely so no one can ride it now. What's next???

As sbd0313 said, if it's above your ability don't ride it. There are plenty of other less difficult options at Allaire!
