6 Mile Run Conditions

Just got back from riding the full loop and the trails where great. Very fast with only a few puddles. Get some nar now before it rains again.

Hey all...

Was out today and rode the blue to red than white and in reverse and the trails overall on the canal side were in nice shape.

There were a few puddles mostly near the water/creek/river on the blue trail after the bridge going back towards the canal lot.

Lots of people out there today even some families, some bikers some hikers and even a few knuckleheads on bikes with no helmets... 😕

There was one family (no helmets) whose dad was doing the raised bridge/wooden crooked path not far from the beginning of the blue path who took a nice tumble/otb on the bridge/wooden crooked path. Good thing he landed in the bushes and not on the wood. His wife commented, in a heavy southern accent, where is a video camera when you need one.

This is just what we need to get this place closed down. Awesome.

was at Allaire today. 6MR is bad but I think Allaire wins for the prize for the most helmet-less riders of any park in cetral NJ. never see that at Hartshorne (and not sure if I've ever seen that at 6MR bit I dont ride there too often) yet Allaire, it seems, is FILLED with helmetless riders. I'd say 1/3 of the riders today had no lids.

of my usual riding buds (macdad and commandostyle) EACH one of us has gone head-over-bars at Allaire.

just dont get it.

Rode the red and blue today. trials look great, just a few muddy areas. perfect weather too. trails through most of the meadows need to be trimmed, getting a bit long...

saw a few riders with no helmets today...reminded them that they need them, but all i got as a "yeah, we need to get some..."

We saw the same group of riders and they said the same thing to us...😡

We and a few tandem friends rode 6 mile today and were surprised at the amazing amount of trail work that has been done there since the last time we were there. The new bridge work is awesome and Pat my wife emphatically thanks you as our last trip she went off the side of one of the bridges on the back of the tandem close to the Canal Rd side and cracked 2 ribs due to a plank/log not being nailed down. To say she was happy to see the new ones is an understatement. The trails are in great shape on both sides of S. Middlebush.
Thanks to Jason and his crew for all your hard work!

Went this morning before the rain. This was my 1st time on the 27 side. All I can say is AWESOME! Thanks to everyone doing the trail maintenance there. The trails were in Tip Top shape. What a fun ride. I cant say enough. 🙂

I have to keep tandems in mind when I build my next big bridge in a few weeks.

Much appreciated!🙂 We don't require a whole lot more than singles. The bridge that she fell off of wouldn't have given way on a single bike line. The tandem sometimes requires me to put the front wheel on the very outside of the bridge getting on to allow enough room for the rear wheel to make it on the other extreme side of the bridge due to the long wheel base. Unfortunately for her my side was nailed in and hers wasn't so when the rear tire hit the very edge over she went. Not sure how I managed to keep the front from being dragged off also but I guess my survival instict is pretty high.

Didn't rain hard this morning but we did get enough overnight that everything was wet this morning. That's on top of the downpour that came by yesterday.

anyone been over lately? any idea on how wet and or flooded it is?

if no one chimes in i'll stop by after work today and take a quick look. i did see a couple cars last night and this morning with empty bike racks in the canal lot so someone was out.

Great conditions this morning. Almost tacky with just a few puddles.
