4 to 5 state parks epic MTBiking.

My monster track tires will get destroyed after this ride...I'm still debating. If it was road ride I would be 100% in.

If you do some quick google searching there is a great piece on connecting jungle habitat to ringwood. I also brought it up on this forum not too long ago if you look under the jungle habitat section. I would link it for you but I am on my mobile.

louis.theres a secret passage that can link from wawa to ringwood via JH but i haven't yet figure it out yet.hopefully oneday.

Here's 2 ways from RW to JH, almost no roads.

From JH to Waway not so easy. There is a hiking trail off of Warwick tpk that traverses Bearfort ridge and eventually gets you to Terrace Pond. Head NW from the pond (or down the gas line) and you are at Cherry Ridge. I have not done this in at least 20 years so I couldnt tell ya what the trails are like, but back then it was a brutal ride.

Hey Graveyard mand thanks for posting that - I am going to pull that file into my garmin and try to follow it !. Last year I rode from Jungle Habitiat, crossed over GLTpk and followed a fire road parallell to Awosting Road, then cut through Green Turtle area, crossed East Shore and up into Jennings Hollow, and linked up with the Lake to Lake trail - but ran into a few hunters, so I cut the ride short. That looks like one of the routes you took. I like the route you show cutting down towards Monksville. I am off next week and plan to give this a try ! Where did you link up from Jungle Habitiat to the Blue Trail (at least I think that is what you followed) towards Monksville??

Again Thanks

GraveyardMan's loop has 2 bushwacking sections that cut straight through the woods. I know because I followed it. There's ways to avoid the bushwacking, but it's kinda hard to describe online. If you sort of know the trails in the area and be creative, his loop will help you.

thank you bill!!your ride is amazing.
(this is what i'ved been waiting for,a help from fellow mtbnj member)
this last few days,i'ved been studying map of MDR,wawa,JH,sterling,RW,long ponds,HT.trying to connecting the dot.

from MDR i do know how to get to wawa..with only small road riding part.
and from wawa to JH is a bit tricky..
then from JH to RW either the easy way(very short) or hardway(longer/tougher) i know how to go.
so,..only from JH to wawa as you stated,is kinda tough.(but,.i think there's a way to get around it)

dirt dawg,.maybe... just maybe,we can help each other out?
with your knowledge of the trails it really helpfull for me.
maybe we can ride together in some way?
thanks

soundzzzzz!!
wanna join me??😀

Wish I could join you Liong, but Sunday's are not free for me. Do you have the NJ trail conference map for North Jersey? You can get it at Campmor and it has all the trails. There are a several ways to connect JH to WW.

1) Easiest way is to enter Abrahm Hewitt Forest at Warwick Turnpike by taking some roads. You have option of heading North or South here. Both routes can take you into WW.

2) If you don't want to take road, I think you can take the power line on the South side of JH, which will eventually head West and spit you out on Route 513. There should be a trail head around there taking you into Bearfort Mountain.

3) If you don't want to take the powerline, there are 2 very round-about ways to go. From JH to Norvin Green Forest to Echo Lake to Route 513 - Bearfort Mountain.

4) The other round-about way is from JH to Wanaque WMA .. follow the trails all the way around Greenwood Lake on the North side, and back down.

I'm sure some (maybe a lot) of these trails are no-no for bikes and hike-a-bike.

Liong - let me see if I can find my GPS Track from when i rode from Jungle to the Lakes to Lakes Trail. I would be happy to try to replicate that ride again and join you for at least part of your excursion, but I AM VERY VERY SLOW. I love to ride, and can easily put in a 4 hour ride, but you would have to wait for me a lot 🙂. I am always up for finding new, off the beaten path places to ride, even if hike a bike is part of it - and trust me - the Jennings Hollow section was a lot of that. As for long rides - while not technical AT ALL, I have been wanting to ride the Paulinskill Trail for a few years. I did ride the Sussex Branch Trail from end to end a few years ago, and loved it.

thank you,dirt dawg!

you're exactly type of biker that i like to ride with.where did you get the idea me as fast rider?😀 beside this is not a race.it's an adventure bike ride.
i'm slow as snail..."it don't matter how slow you go,you'll just have to keep moving "that's my moto. coz,..i'm doing all my rides only for fun. beside i have nothing else to do.

N/W
you should try this one http://www.libertygap.org

i did those last year, not the whole enchilada tho, only short 15miles.as of the whole trails not 100% complete.i ran into several troubles at patriot path coz it wasn't really complete.
i start from portland,PA then take paulinskill to sussex branch and so on...
this summer,i will try again to complete them but connect with different trails.
also i would like to check out lackawanna cut off trail, wich is not far from paulinskill trailhead.

Very cool trail, thanks for sharing. Wow thats a long ride! When I did the sussex branch trail, we went under the lackawanna cutoff and it looked pretty interesting. We went up to it and rode it for about a mile. It was tough riding because of the gravel, so I turned back. This was afew years ago, maybe it is better now. I will keep an eye open for your ride postings and try to join you for a ride.
