2024 Lawn yard thread

Seeds are pre-germinating, lawn has been scalped, trying to hype myself up to do the dethatching. It's overseeding season!
ive seen several people around the neighborhood doing this, and decided that I can much better use the time and money spent on the lawn for bike related stuff.

besides, I have the best Dandelion garden in town come springtime.. 😛

Speaking of which...for the last few years our town does not accept grass clippings at the recycling center, they actually check the garden refuse bags being brought in...after accumulating a few years worth of clippings in a corner of the property I start seeing the reason behind it, it's nasty!

That brings the question...what are you supposed to do with grass clippings (or the dethatching residue) ?

This year we tried to remove them with the specifically designed tool...not fun and very time consuming, they seem to pop back out about every minute...

i put the mulching plate in the mower and dont worry about clippings. ever. its also better for the lawn (so im told)
I guess I should be more religious about my lawn mowing schedule, you can do that if you mow frequently. This year I went abroad for 3 weeks in September, when we came back I could not find where the house was…but yes, mowing forward (eh, see what I did there?) that could definitely be the way.

I mow based on visual cues not a time schedule. Soooo religious is not how I would describe my mowing habits

Dust bowl with leaves. That’s all I got.
Same. My firewood piles are nice and dry. Haven't cut my grass in a long time. My OCD neighbor, still weekly and has been blowing leaves at least twice a week with his F&*king blower. Wife just texted me he's currently running it right now, so not only is it loud, it's also a big dust cloud mixed with the smell of 2 stroke exhaust.

I love my two stroke Redmax. Nothing electric comes close to the power and range...

Not that much longer...
