2018 H2H Race Series

Good thing. Next up in the H2H series is RINGWOOD!!!!

https://www.bikereg.com/acd-h2h-ringwoodrumble

According to the underground rumor mill, there is a chance that this will be a different loop than last year. Last year was basically a few miles of downhill fireroad and then a few miles of single track climbing. It was a lot better than it sounds because the single track at Ringwood is awesome.

I'm sad to see mayhem get cancelled. So far we're 0 for 4 with regards to bike races. But Ringwood is a great venue to kick off the season. Maybe the weather gods will make it up to us with some perfect weather.

everyone' is going to be firing on all cyclinders by time the season starts.

race was cancelled. anyone know of any other fun events Sat am????? if not, what trails can we ride. North NJ is terrible. maybe allaire or Hartshorne

lewis morris wasnt bad this morning, bring at least a + tire bike IMO. Fatty would be even better, if its warm again today like yesterday and freezes up overnight i will be nice.

Can’t make Ringwood but am in for Mooch, which I never rode. Trying to decide what discipline to partake, ss or geared however my ss is rigid. Would rigid be a no-go there? What is the lap distance/ elevation gain per lap? I’m assuming it’s fairly rocky. How does it compare to Wayway? Thanks-

My Garmin says 5 mile laps with 730ft elevation/ lap, but it's always off. I'd say it's more like 6 mile laps with 1000 ft /lap. Someone with a better Garmin could be more accurate with this info.

The course is similar to Wawayanda with a bit more elevation. I do rigid SS at mooch race(32x20). Gears with suspension would be easier but rigid SS is doable. The only real way to tell what bike to bring is by test riding course.

What cat are u racing?

We will probably offer preview rides after the Ringwood race next week. Stay tuned if you want to check out race course.

Thanks for the low down. With work/kids schedule, I won’t b able make it up for a pre ride. And I live south of Allaire. Looks like I will race this one for the for the first time - cat 2 geared on a ht 11-36 retro

Regarding Ringwood... the race route has quite a bit of trees down. What is the etiquette for clearing them? Im talking ones that obviously aren't built into features. Leave it to the race organizers? Or can I do a little trimming and removing on a ride? Thought I'd ask before doing something uncouth.

If I found you removed debris from my course I'd buy you a beer.

Well, actually my course is the Boy Scout Camp (Allamuchy) and you would be trespassing, so not ideal. 🙂 So feel free to remove debris from Ringwood.

Powertools would probably get you in trouble.

I think any trees down on the course that are removed will help the promoters address other issues. So have at it.

OK, here are our rough (emphasis on rough) course maps for Ringwood Rumble. It's the purple route on both maps. Both courses run clockwise. Usual disclaimers - objects are closer than they appear in mirror, etc. Course subject to change due to weather, dragons, etc. Yes, there is still one tree down across the course - we'll get there, we'll get there. Pay attention to this part. It's a long course, so we've changed things up a bit - the "long" race (Cat 1, Pro) will do 2 laps, Cat 2's (medium) will do one lap, and the Cat 3 (short) course will do 2 laps of the shortened course. We'll have something Strava-ish up tomorrow night. We'll probably be out there on Wednesday after work doing some final course clean up (tossing branches off the trail, cutting face slappers, chasing out the zombies, etc.) We'll start throwing arrows out there on Friday afternoon, finish and tape on Saturday morning.

endurance will do cat 1 loops?

Also, you'll get this in your confirmation email if you pre-reg through BikeReg, but the state is forcing us to charge for parking. We know, we know - trust us, this was definitely not our idea. $5 per car. JORBA got dinged for this as well with JORBAFest, so it isn't just us. Again, we're sorry - totally not what we want to have to do.
