Ok, took advantage of the daylight and rode a little over an hour. Local roads and HH trail. Was cooler than this weekend, but it was very nice out.

Took my townie/grocery getter bike outfitted with two ghetto kitty box containers. which work like sails in the wind. Not fun against, but makes up for it when you are running with the wind. Wasn't going to take a picture, but I found something different to shoot, so here it is. Also, bonus shot of my bike.

Went to Goosepond Mountain State Park. It was pretty darn cold when that wind got whipping. Lots of frost heaves. This place just needs a little more love. I don't think too many people ride here.

So today I rode to find the Davis Family Cemetery. FAIL! I was prepared with @huffster Strava track AND a the Geocache coordinates installed in my Garmin provided by the Geocache within the Cemetery. Damn Garmin, never got closer then 1000 feet, it would just lock up and stall as I rode around for miles. I did get to ask four people that were out hiking and they all gave different directions and stories, saying, I've been there but now I don't remember. NOW I remember why I gave up Geocaching over a year ago. I need a hobby with better averages, I won't be back! Other than that it was a great day out in a new spot. I also got to stop by one of claudius smith's dens which was pretty cool. Great park with lots of unmarked side trails. I only rode about 7.5 miles on my search but it was great. Some of the trails are right through fields with big grass humps and ruts. Tough descents and even tougher climbs kept my legs a hummin'

@Kaleidopete

That cemetery is tucked away on twisted, unmarked overgrown trails and the plot itself is very overgrown. So, it is indeed hard to find. I'm not sure I could even give directions or find it myself on the first shot. That's despite having been by it many, many times. I marked where it is below. That is a screen-shot of the GPS I used on 2/13/2016.

Nice. What year is that Rockhopper?
You need to get some gumwalls for that!
I regret getting rid of my '88. Not sure what I was thinking.

It is a 95. I really am riding the piss out of it. If I am not on the dirt, I have been riding this bike. Original 7sp lx derailleurs. Whomever stated lx was bad from this era was lying. It still shifts great! This will be my zombie Apocalypse machine.

I will look into gumwalls when I need new tires, they would look nice. I also need to get a solid fork and rid myself of the boat anchor mag21.

It's funny, got 2 compliments on it when I was at 2nd life bike swap last sat.

I have got rid of a few bikes since I bought this one-new, but I never ever think about selling this one.

Someone should start a new link, post photos one's old bike. Either their first mountain bike or a progression of bikes over the years. I still ride my 1993 mountain bike for snow and cardio.

I has route. Actually, the Canal all the way out and back is 340 miles.

i dunno if i could mentally handle 340 miles of flat and "same". i need climbs and definitely changing scenery

wheres your jawn go? im most likely gonna try to build a mixed route in the CT/MA/NY region, planning some recon rides soon
