Jungle Habitat today. Trails were primo. I rated them a "4" on the conditions gadget.

I was a little torn when picking a bike today, but Jungle simply begs for full-suspension. My FS has not seen much time in the rotation lately. I really "need" a 29'r FS bike. But, my FS is a 26'r. It felt a little weird to ride after spending most of the winter on my Fatbike or my 29r HT. This bike also has very narrow handlebars which I originally cut down specifically because of Jungle Habitat. I believe it was the close quarters on 'Fish' that lead to that decision. Quite frankly, they are too damn narrow now.

Anyway, it was a great ride and I hit all the good stuff. I was a little shy of 2 hours when I came down 'Junkyard Dog'. So, I decided to go loop 'Dump Truck Hill'. Then it was 'Boulderdash' out and I even rode up 'Lower Chute', which I typically skip. I figured I'd roll right out at 2.5 hours. Of course not...2:15. So, I rode up to the airport for a couple minutes and then rode down the road to a dirt road that was pretty swamped out. In fact, that was the only really muddy area on the whole ride.

Someone rebuilt this little log-ride. I think its actually a little easier than it used to be. But, THANKS...whoever!

The 'gate'. As gates go, one of the coolest.

I went out to Tourne after work, but there were too many hikers and off leash dogs, so I decided to head toward Wildcat. I spent too long dicking around in Hepner and decided I didn't have time to get over to Wildcat, so I just hit Jonathan's Woods and started heading back. Then I got back to Tourne and got texts that everyone bailed on climbing, so there was no rush to get home. Gah, so I just went and hit a little local single track in Mountain Lakes, and then the three minutes of rain cleared the hikers out of Tourne for me. Score!

The NJ Transit train passed by right before I jumped out of the woods to cross the tracks. I also saw a blur that I thought was a car out of the corner of my eye, but then I looked and saw a blue and orange jersey and realized it must be @UtahJoe doing intervals.

This old fireplace is in Muriel Hepner, pretty much right in someone's backyard:
