I rode Stowe a lot in college (St Mike's to the quad could be done in about 45 minutes during the week in the early 90's). There is a fair bit of terrain there and I still am finding more. The only problem is it has become known by other people and gets tracked out pretty quickly. But man I've had some amazing days there when the conditions are right.love Stowe. 2000 vert of good pitch. And it’s a great town. It’s also awesome in the summer, I really wish I could afford a place up there, or it was just a little closer. I also like gore a lot when it has good conditions, but my snowboarder friends hate it, because of the catwalks.
and I agree with you about your favorite place to snowboard. Can’t stand ice!!
Wow, holy cow!It appears all the Summer Pandemic Hikers have decided to go skiing. This was the line to pick up lift tickets at Hunter this morning. Line goes from the lot into the building. I've never seen the line leave the building before. Thankfully Epic Pass holders don't need to wait in this line.

When I first thought I'd have to wait in that line I was ready to turn around and drive home. Lift lines maxed out at about 7 minutes.Wow, holy cow!
I’m not sure why, but Gore doesn’t get the respect it deserves. I think it’s because, when it doesn’t snow there for a little while, it gets super icy? When it does have snow, its got some great glades and nooks and crannies all over the place. And it’s pretty damn big. Those glades off the burndt ridge quad are never ending thigh busters.I rode Stowe a lot in college (St Mike's to the quad could be done in about 45 minutes during the week in the early 90's). My in town ski buddy who is really good and an old ski racer is very particular about skiing has a house at Gore. He loves it there.
Yep I think Gore is underrated. It’s got a nice set up and ample terrain. But just like Iceface, er Whiteface, conditions have to be right.I’m not sure why, but Gore doesn’t get the respect it deserves. So if this is the line mid-week, WTH is it like on weekends? 😳😳When I first thought I'd have to wait in that line I was ready to turn around and drive home. Lift lines maxed out at about 7 minutes.

This year you cant get in there unless you buy a season pass i think.I haven't been to Gore since they replaced the old gondola and opened up the new terrain.
Some crappy memories of always getting dumped into the top of the newbs,
with limited choices. Been meaning to revisit and get a proper tour - we'll see how it goes.

I was at Windham last Saturday and saw nothing like this. The 6 pack line was long but because of Covid loading and ALL THE SKI SCHOOL/TEAMS. The double had no line and we lapped that a bunch. So if this is the line mid-week, WTH is it like on weekends? 😳😳
Looks like weekends are sold out, other than that, it‘s $68, not too bad.We have gone to Gore the past 2 years. I like it a bunch, despite the fact I ended my ski season there last year when I hurt myself.
But I did also hear that Gore is only opened for season pass holders this year. Unverified though.
The old gondola took you all the way to the top, the new one gets you to the middle of the mountain to get access to the rest of the mountain. I liked where the old one dropped you off better. The new quad on burndt ridge, that really made it bigger. It’s funny, I say new, but it’s probably been there for over 10 years now, maybe longer. To me, what makes it so special is the glades, but that’s why they need a lot of snow.I haven't been to Gore since they replaced the old gondola and opened up the new terrain.

Hopefully, they get a big dump, I’m not limited to w/e either. if a storm does come, let’s make a plan.good news is i'm not limited to the w/e !
Hard to do this year with limited ticket sales by advance purchase only. Every skier has the same plan.Hopefully, they get a big dump, I’m not limited to w/e either. if a storm does come, let’s make a plan.
I guess so, I have the ikon, so maybe Stratton, if Gore gets a dump, so will they. I am heading to Utah on Feb 5th, man they need snow also. It’s been a long time since I’ve been skunked on a trip to Utah, Tim Tebow was the bronco QB, last time that happened.Hard to do this year with limited ticket sales by advance purchase only. Competition for tickets in NY is way worse this year since those who want to follow Covid guidelines form out of state can only go to NY. Every other state has restrictions if you travel from out of state.I guess so, I have the ikon, so maybe Stratton, if Gore gets a dump, so will they.
