Good for you! You got to keep going unless you or the bike are unfixable! Lots of stories about bikes crapping out before the race started. Were they scared?? I myself was about to get into the car and leave when hubby says he needs 10 min to fix my bike. It had a nice bubble in the rear...

Don't forget to call out 'on your left' - it's more than just a courtesy! Check the rules. I know you guys know this, but I am always surprised at how many ppl don't do it.

That particular root was there last year too. That's the only one I remember from last year, in fact. But, many new roots got uncovered during the race which will haunt us about a year from now, I bet!
