i made the mistake of burning the tick, which makes the gut-juices squirt out... From now on I will only use tweezers. you are correct tho 10 day min on the antibiotics

rode over near the power lines yesterday, must have hit a nest. had them everywhere. searched for 20mins got most of them. Searched again, got more. Got home found 2 deer ticks in me. had only been 3-4 hrs so need to find out if i can take doxy for a couple days or if i need the full dose again

i do ride a lot, and already had 3 ticks engorged in me over the last 3 weeks. I spray with OFF (deet) and check myself often during the rides, and after, and then i shower afterwards. if you can post a link to the tick test kit id appreciate it

got out there last night, really bummed to see a lot of deep ruts and tire tracks from someone's motorcycle/dirtbike. My friend even wiped out because of a deep rut in the middle of the trail then we went back up to the far side, and see someone had just dumped a bunch of trash - broken...

My wife is new to the sport and loves it but needs to build up her confidence. when I saw this thread, she got really excited, we will try and make it tomorrow. Do you guys meet up at 6pm every tuesday?

somehow I got bit by a nasty insect last weekend. It left a huge welt on my leg (im 31 y/o and live in Phoenix, AZ so im used to mean insects, but this is a bad one). not sure if it was a spider or a tick but dont get bit by whatever bit me!
