    Round valley Saturday 10/25

I'm still planning on heading out from the main lot at 3pm, unless it is raining torrentially. Moderate pace but fast enough to cover 16 miles before sunset.

    Round valley Saturday 10/25

Would love to join but have obligations in the morning. I was planning the same ride starting at 3pm from the regular lot, out to the cush trail and back.

    Chimney Rock Wed 10/15

Tomorrow. Wed 10/22. I would ride earlier but there's this dang thing that keeps me in bikes and baubles called a job that holds me back.

Can't believe I just did that..

I am pretty good with forgetting to tie down the bike on the rack. Once when I had a BMW I put the bike on the roof (BMW factory rack), clamped the bike rack onto the seat tube and forgot to strap the wheels down in the channel. At 80mph on 287 the bike went airborn, flipped over the top of...

    Chimney Rock Wed 10/15

Rerun Anyone want to do a rerun of last Wednesday? Start riding around 5:30, it gets dark quick and we need to wrap up by 30 mins past sunset according to the rules. You will need a light for these dusk conditions, and especially if we get delayed due to a mechanical or two. It's going to be...

    Round Valley this Sat Afternoon

I don't think I could handle 2-3 miles on Panaracers at 30 psi, but thanks.

Ticks Check closely for ticks. I killed one that appeared on my arm driving home(i dont think he bit me), and Bill reported a bite. Otherwise, good ride. I think the idea to do the lot to the trail closed sign is a good idea. That's probably close to 18 miles and involves some good...

    Round Valley this Sat Afternoon

Confirmed. Myself and one other. from reading the whole thread: 1. we are meeting around 3 with a 3:30 (latest) roll out 2. we are meeting at the cushetunk lot and riding around the lake in a clockwise direction 3. we may ride out and back so we turn back at the main parking lots...

    Need advice on winter rideing.

I havent found the tube freezes at anything above 20 degrees. If so, you need to drink more often to stop it from sitting in the tube long enough to freeze. Otherwise, ride on. You don't need to worry about mud once the ground freezes! Good times.

    Round Valley this Sat Afternoon

This is looking good. How about 3:30 to ride (that means rolling at 3:30). I always do the same route starting at the water at the first lot as mentioned above so I would be interested to see some more of the place.

    Chimney Rock Wed 10/15

Or come later... just remember a light in case you get stuck with a mechanical and end up in the woods after dark.

    '08/'09 season thread or something.

Another one bites the dust I was about to go exchange my sons boarding gear for some new season rentals this past weekend and imagine my surprise to get a letter from Four Seasons Ski on Rt 22 that they had closed their doors for good. Sure they weren't a chain store but they were a good...

    First Time

Nice! Anyone on the board out there last Wed with a light on in the dimming evening light? Just in the back of the frisbee golf section?

Anyone going to try to ride tomorrow the 27th?

How about we make it a solid 7am roll off for the ride, so arrive and get the bike and gear ready at 6:30. Should be able to knock out a lap at HS in just over an hour, then a slower reverse route. Anyone that wants to join for the second lap around 8:15/8:30 is welcome, provide they dont try...

Anyone going to try to ride tomorrow the 27th?

RV drains well but has some muddy spots depending on where you ride. I would be down for either. Can we get a consensus on time? I saw 6am but my body doesn't want to get up that early tomorrow. I would do 7. We could ride Hartshorne both ways and still be out of there by 10am.
