If I was limited on budget, I would get the best hardtail I could find...imho, a great hardtail beats a mediocre full-suspension bike. If budget was less of a consideration, I could see going FS, although personally I'd probably still go hardtail (although I would get a titanium frame).

Checked this place out this morning...not bad! 5 mile loop of double- and single-track...lots of roots and some rocks, but nothing too technical (although the vast amount of wet leaves made it a little tricky today)...

Yeah, basically what happened was that Chris Chance sold the company to Serotta, then fired everybody because Serotta was going to build all the Fat Chance bikes (which is why I pointed out that mine was one of the last built in Somerville, MA...after that year, they were all made in upstate NY...
