Which tires are you running in 2026?

Last year I tried the following but have the itch to try something different: Tracer Pro, Terreno Dry, GravelKing SK. 40-45 sizing. Not really interested in fast slicks or class 4 tires as I'm not single tracking with a drop bar bike anymore. Thunderos and Terra Speeds are top of my list to consider.

Been through a few different type tires the last few years but landed on these the last year or so in size 42.

I found out the hard way the "Light and Supple" version of these tires are complete shit since I blew out one of them after one ride, and the other one had some weird bubble/thread damage to it after just a few rides. The slight weight penalty of the Durable version is negligible for me and I have 100's of miles on them (on my 2nd set) with no issues.

for my riding I dont like the gravel tires with the slick center tread like the pathfinders I felt it wasnt enough traction on climbs. These tires have a condensed center knobby section that roll pretty well on pavement and hard pack gravel.

I have one wheelset with 2.1 thunderburts f / r on zipp 303s. These are terrible on single track and I understand why slightly deeper carbon wheels are never seen on MTBs. Trying to navigate a rock garden is sketch AF. I ended up scratching my nice specialized road shoes like that. 😭
But they do make a noticeable difference when going 20 mph on actual gravel. Deeper wheels are so much faster here.

Then another wheelset with a 2.25 racing Ralph on the front and another 2.1 thunderburt in the back with an insert. These are the stock DT Swiss wheels which are not carbon so I don’t mind banging the 💩 out of that rear wheel on rocks and roots.
This setup has me looking for a 75mm xplr droppers. Having that triggered on the AXS hoods is sweet.

I looked at the Rutlands but saw reports of inconsistent quality and wobble, maybe they righted the ship?

hold on what do you have now and what do you wanna do with it

dont want fast slicks
dont want "class 4", no idea what that means, guess you mean MTB tires?
Some article I came across, used the terms of class 1, 2, 3, 4 to specify terrain. 4 was basically singletrack rock gardens and 3 loose gravel, 2 hard pack gravel and 1 hard pack dirt. At the moment I have on Tracer Pros on one and PF pros on the other. PFs were good for me on 1 & 2, Tracers were adequate for 1, 2, 3 but nothing to write home about . I'm thinking something with knobs on edges to dig in would help with loose gravel.
