Such a mess.

Then they better modify the Vehicle Pursuit Policy as officers can't pursue for traffic violations as the policy stands today.

And there are like 6 NJ State Park Police officers on duty for the whole state at any one time. Maybe double that on the big summer holidays. They aren't in a position to enforce. They are currently looking to hire 20 new officers, but the pay is less than what local towns are paying, so you really have to want to be a park guy.
BS - come down to sand land. I have been pulled over three times this year by Park Police / Conservation for riding my 50-State Legal, plated registered and insured motorcycle on roads I am permitted to ride on. Of course each time I was let go.

Once they see the plates they don’t even ask for the license/reg.

Complete BS, last time I checked that is profiling.

If you want to look deeper, check out Wharton’s crack down on OHV trails as well as the surrounding Pinelands area. The park has also started to label trails no longer applicable for bicycles, my guess because of E Bikes

There are cameras all over the place down here, they started banging on doors in my hood for kids riding e-bikes in the local woods - Park Police showing up at your door to tell you they know you are riding an EBike in the woods and they have you on camera and will summons you BS - E-bikes used to be all over my neighborhood, I have not seen one for six months.

@Carson probably doesn’t consider that part of nj 😂
That is understandable, some times I don’t either.

Here is another one for @Carson

An additional example not pictured - In April I was on my NJ street legal motorcycle (no shortcuts out of state tag BS) , and was stung by a hornet at 50mph, I pulled over in front of the Bass River Park office to remove it from under my shirt and park staff ran out, grabbed me by my shirt and pulled my clutch in exclaiming “gotcha, don’t move”

Once we talked and they figured out why I stopped (on the shoulder of the road), he let me go. That is assault and profiling. Complete BS.

I used to be pro-police but now understand the disdain for the badge.

I guess that's why we see only the one NJSPP guy roaming RV and Route 22, because they are all down in the Barrens.

The second pic I recognize as NJSPP. Who is the guy in green in the black vehicle? Fish and Wildlife DEP guy?

I am by no means condoning their tactics you described, but I know why they are doing it: they will never catch you if you aren't stationary and decide you aren't stopping for them. Doesn't make it right.

The guy in the green and black noted he was a Conservation Officer, when I asked why he pulled me over after he said I was free to leave (out of pure curiosity), he told me they had a call someone in a white pickup truck was doing donuts in the area - I rode my motorcycle there and do not own and or drive a white pick up, not sure what that had to do with me.

They have an office at washington crossing and i think they just drive down to the towpath and ticket people parking after dark. I have only ever seen them a few times in washington crossing park, one time when they stopped our nica team to tell us to get out before dark and then were ticketing our cars at the towpath lot when we got back 😂

I wonder how much of that is simply revenue generation... forced upon them by managers due to budget shortfalls...

Years ago my E-fat bike front tire flatted and I couldn't fix it (LONG STORY), I left it off trail in Wawayanda and
walked five miles back to my car and went home. I couldn't get to it because of a locked gate in Highland Lakes.
Next day I go the Park office and ask the Ranger for help to unlock the gate get my bike. Sure he says, lets go.
I drove behind him the 4+ miles to the gate and he opened it and followed me an other mile to my bike. I
loaded it on my rack and we left. I offered to buy him lunch for the help, he refused saying it's just his job, helping park goers.

I think the Rangers up North need to come down and hug the Rangers down South!

Great share!
