Stephens State Park Conditions

I'm quite proud of today's accomplishment. The "Three Headed Monster" on the border/Mulch Pit Trail has finally been slayed!! Shout out to Karl W. for the assist. Together, we methodically developed a successful and safe cut plan and made it happen, step by step. Most of the work done with the MS261 (18"bar) but the main trunk saw the debut of the MS461 (25"bar). What a beast of a saw. This was today's only focus, so we hiked all the equipment in by foot from the trestle parking area.

Please keep the accurate intel coming, I'm sure there's a lot of new blowdowns out there. I'll get to 'em when I can.

Nice work!!

Wow! Great work man! Thank you.
I’m assuming it’s too wet to ride?
We only walked about half mile on trails not normally prone to holding water. So I don't really have an opinion on Stephens general condition. However, I was also nearby in Deer Park on Friday, working on another issue. That place needs a lot more drying out before it's rideable...it was a muddy disaster with lots of deep puddles and streams on trails.

I’ll ride elsewhere. Thank you sir.

Tree down just before the left turn into Ridge/Sunset Trail. 2 more trees on Trestle Trail. On the trestle trail, one is just past the creek crossing. The other is past that one. Map and photos attached. Tried to put the X's as close as I could.

I’d start sharpening the blades with this wind.
lol. The cycle is quite predictable at this point. My phone lights up after the first few rideable days after storms, particularly windy ones or unusually wet ones. I'm just happy folks are providing accurate intel, which is invaluable for mission planning. I can never be in love with the idea that "I'm all caught up" in any park, because it hardly lasts a few days. BTW, everything is serviced immediately upon return from missions: Chains sharpened, fluids refilled, etc. The window of opportunity to get out there opens and closes randomly, so being in a ready state is "business as usual" here.

BTW I was able to get out right after the last snowfall to clear the pair you reported on Trestle, and another pair on Lower Maze. Thx for the intel. Shout out to DK for the assist.

@mattybfat led a loop of Stephens south of the train tracks.
Trails were solid with some slippery leaves.
Conditions were safe for riding. Came across a couple trees, but i think they've been documented.
Not sure of the rain last night -
