This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

At a local place here, the really old people wait in the lot very early. As the bread guy comes into the lot, they slowly come out of the cars. When the bread guy loads up a rolling shelf cart with breads to wheel into the store, they pounce. They grab bread off the cart and go into the store to pay, but do it as he is trying to get into the store. They don't wait for him to stock the shelves. This happened once and I don't know if the store put an end to it. Really old people can be ornery.

When it come to seniors, I find there’s two types - those who don’t give AF and are pissed they have to wear a mask (or outright refuse to) and then those who lock themselves in their homes and refuse any human contact whatsoever. My mom is the former. She calls me everyday wondering when me and the kids are going to visit. ?

Wait, people actually stayed home and didn't ride?

0% of people stayed home. I'd give 10% as a super high number of people that Social Distanced. Nobody has done anything so whatever is happening now is the same as if we just said Fuck It from the beginning and rolled the dice. Which we did even though we said we didn't. None of us followed any rules. Not a one of us. Zero percent. That's why everyone's grandma is dead now. Thanks Obama.

Not accurate.

Interesting - so just a twist on this - say on day 1 with 10 cases we shut everything down.
a month later - it is basically gone. then the revisionists could say we did it for nothing.
Somewhere in week two this was predicted - that there was no real reason. except we saw what
happened in italy, their active case load peaked in ~5 weeks. We are 8 weeks in, and active cases
has not peaked. So yes, we are controlling the spread.

Was it worth it? Did/are we saving people? Different discussion, but what we are doing had the intended result.
Italy's deaths per 1M is more than twice that of USA, even tho we have more cases per 1M.
