Book of Paul H

It's flat as my first girlfriend. As a comparison: 6 mile 16 miles 761 ft of elev. High Mt. 8.3 miles 1063 ft of elev. 6 mile is flat. and high mt. is constant effort and balance to keep going. 6 mile is no comparison to real mountain biking. Sorry but our opinions differ here. Oh i'm not mad, dogs get mad, I'm disappointed.
By no means is six miles hilly, and while there is no climbs per say, you are rarely on a flat section of trail. It’s not like it some shit trail we make the most of, it is tailor built specifically for mountain bikes.

I guess allaire isn’t mountain biking either?

Like I said our opinions differ here. No it's not mountain biking, it's riding your bike in the dirt that's all. Climbs that can be down purely on momentum to me doesn't qualify it as mountain climbing. It's just the difference of where we both ride. I live up north where you spend most of a ride looking out the top of your helmet to see 75 feet of the trail. Down there you can see a mile of trail ahead of you. Yes I have ridden both. I could do another numbers comparison but that seems fruitless and I don't want to beat a dead horse.

By your definition, none of this is mountain biking.....

So by that definition Mountain Creek isn't mountain biking either since you ride a lift to the top?
Now your comparing apples to oranges. But in my opinion no. I love those people that leave their measuring device on and claim 10,000 ft of elevation gain by sitting in a chair. I see your point but downhilling is a different ball game then what we are discussing. That's like comparing drag racing to track racing, different genres.

It’s all mountain biking, Frank. Climbing has nothing to do with if it is or is not mountain biking.

Your beating a dead horse. My opinions are mine and yours are yours. Like I call motocross, motocross and cross country racing, cross country racing. I've done both and they are different animals that only share a two wheeled vehicle as the same way to enjoy both. Plastic jumps in a field is mountain biking?

You can't say that doesn't look like fun though.
I never said it wasn't and I would do all of it in a heartbeat. You've ridden with me and you know I enjoy it all just as much as the next guy if not more and am just as enthusiastic about it as anyone. But to compare High Mt. or Ringwood, Sterling and WayWay to 6 mile is ludicrous in my mind. That's all I'm saying. Sessioning at Sourlands is always a highlite of the summer when I get down there, you know that.

Riding around , finding whatever to ride and jumping off a solid surface corn hole board is 100% mountain biking. We climbed 400-500’ up there if that helps.

Let's pick this up tomorrow it's fun. Plus I gotta pick up dog crap in the backyard. Kev pm tomorrow if you don't know why I got my chammies in bunch. Excellent discussion, and if you ask anyone that's ridden with me they'll tell you I am one of the most enthusiastic guys you'll ride with. I love it all loudly and with great fervor, ask @liong71er .

I enjoy riding with you, and I know that you like to have fun. I do agree that 6 mile isn't the same as the northern parks but without it I and many like me never would have discovered mountain biking. It's kinda the gateway for a lot of people. Every ski slope has its bunny hill, right?

Anywho, we're all friends and like playing on bikes so that should be good enough.

PS, the offer is always open for Sourlands if it ever dries up around here. I know some less painful sections now @Paul H !

i enjoyed riding with anyone..and i have ridden with Frank few times..he's someone that go up and beyond when riding bicycles,
he definitely doesn't care about biking being categorized, biking in general (dirt, road uphill,or downhill, sideway nor bothway) all are simply riding bikes..doesn't matter where you riding at..except in your trainer or basement?
it's all about having Fun and be happy while doing it

he's a versatile rider, gave him any type of bikes
he will beat the crap out of it,and still have big smile on his face afterwards
Frank..i missed riding and playing with you??

To add fuel to the fire.... its called mountain biking! Where is the mountain? (I ride my Hightower with DH gear at 6miles)
Also... @Mtbdog is a roadie! (who can kick my ass on a mtb)
😛

@liong71er Thank you for the kind words. I also miss riding with you as you are an inspiration to me. Your skill and fitness is what pushes me to go further cause you show us what is possible on a bike.
@Paul H I believe you could kick my ass anytime you like if you wanted it as bad I do. I just have to get you to lite that competitive fire that is deep inside you yearning to come out,let it out man and you would be untouchable. I mean it man, let it show!
