Book of Paul H

Start doing longer rides. If all your rides are 1.5 hours, doing more 1.5 hour rides aren't really going to help your endurance very much. If you want to feel better late in a 1.5 hour ride, start doing 2.5 hour rides, even if it's only twice a month at first. Then start doing 3+ hour rides.

I've been trying to post this for 15 minutes but keep getting server error.

I keep getting the same error, I've been trying to cut out most of the stops in OOS rides. I felt rude to both bob and leo, but I feel like roll time vs talk time is 2/1

When I ride alone I don't stop at all, except to maybe check my phone occasionally or slam a clif bar quickly if it's a longer ride. When I go on group rides I expect to stop often, but it's more about hanging out and socializing with others.

Paul is a strong rider from my observations
Didn't know you know another Paul who rides.... what's his tag on the boards?

Reality check... no pain no gain
I am a casual rider... or the weekend warrior I guess. It would be delusional to try to compare myself to someone who rides 3 or more times a week but having that male ego... can't help myself. Not sure if it is typical for a weekend warrior but when I get my bike on the dirt, I get excited and tend to go hard right from the start. Then I run out of gas relatively quickly and suffer for the remainder of the ride. I guess I had the flawed expectation that the drop in weight will manifest in a dramatic improvement in endurance. I guess I need to control my pace better at the beginning.

I think its that stupid time machine error.... when replying on a post/thread that says "in a minute"

No, it was a post that was already posted. I also tried posting it without quoting the previous post. Had the same problem last night, now everything seems fine.

The time difference is crazy, I saw a post yesterday that said "in five minutes." Lol. It's also funny that you can like a post that hasn't been posted yet, but not quote it.

So making more power won't necssalriy help wiht endurance? I would think the stronger you are the better endurance you would have.

I feel like I have plateaud a littel and looking for something to change or try to feel stronger longer into my ride.

I'm not looking to ride 25 mile races althought I a may try the Lucky this year but I feel like I not gaining much endurance.

*sorry for the thread jack Paul

Power and endurance are two different things IMO. Think 100M sprinter vs marathon runner. Sprinter can put down lots of power but it doesn't mean they have endurance for long runs/rides.

No, it's Paul H. I'm talking about. Your the only person I know that cannot do a ride in weeks then get off the couch and do a century ride with @liong71er!

I 'member at WC when Paul was all like "screw these jaw wagging oozers" and 'sploded down the trail by his lonesome and waited for us like 50 yards down trail. True story.

We seriously need that, I at least enjoyed trying to take out a widow maker of a tree on the down hill. Hope you want another taste of northern riding
