What’s “easier”, XC or Endurance?

Ok, i don't think that's true endurance. I think JimV does true endurance races.
So what is the NUE series? Not National Ultra Endurance series? The fast guys are 6-7 hours. Maybe I don’t know what endurance is. What @jimvreeland is ride his bike as long as he can, take a nap, ride some more and call it a race ?

When the length of your nap effects your overall race time, it's Endurance. As a reference, I know about 25 recreational riders that just did unPaved with zero long distance experience and Finished. We're talking 12-14 hours out there. You can still fake that fitness.

Did you check out Matt Ackers last “endurance” ride? 540ish miles, 64 hours no sleeping.

Just to be clear my topic is meant to be xc vs endurance racing not xc vs endurance group riding which a lot of people do in races. Ask John Arias what intervals he gave me when He was training me for NUEs.

You've not been in a Dave Taylor thread before? He asks a question and then just belittles anyone that answers why his opinion is the only one.

Ask him to explain why a vintage 26" MTB is faster than a Gravel Bike on the road.
Oh, this isn’t a one way street Jimbo. You dish it out as well. I’d like a logical explanationto why XC or Endurance racing is harder. Anyone can hop on a bike, eat and ride for long periods of time...well almost anyone. My question was about racing.

I think the guys in that video pretty much hid a gravel bike in the shadow of an old 26er. Nothing to add there. John Tomac literally races a gravel bike in dual slalom and xc in his early years.

Sick. JT used to race a 26" XC bike against other 26" XC bikes, that obviously means that old POS is amazing on the road 😉
