OOS MOGA

@Kangdoy , I need to thank you! I re-kindled my relationship with Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson is now my life guru and this afternoon I rode at the sound of Seventh Son of A Seventh Son...I still suck but the experience was much more enjoyable! It's unfortunate that I can't blast it as I would like to do while riding because surroundings awareness and self preservation! We need to do an Iron Maiden themed ride sometime! @Paul H, can you play some Iron Maiden riffs!

P.S. I even found a bootleg tape of the concert I went to in 1981!

For some reason.... I never got into Maiden.
I grew up in more of a GnR era.

When driving to the ride at JH.... yes... I was blasting Welcome to the Jungle

aug 11 for the mtb ride - i'm exploring the upper mid-west this weekend. or whatever they call it.
In all seriousness, should I go to this? It sounded like they'd be Sessioning serious tech, so I figure I'll be hiking a bike a bunch and watching people do cool shit. Id rather pedal. If it's trail riding, just techy, I'm in...but I think youre the only person I'd even know from the forum, so part of me thinks I'd rather die up north with these fools. Gimme your thoughts.

People either ride at the Sourlands once and never go
back, or they become addicted to the challenge and ride there all the time. Be prepared to
spend a lot of time walking your bike or at least dabbing your foot every few feet. Be sure to
climb up the Pipeline for a lung busting aerobic challenge, just see if you can make it up without
stopping. ”

Arg. That actually looks incredibly fun, I just wonder if I need more time in the saddle before I attempt it. Hmmm. Bet I could learn a lot about riding though.

There's some extremely technical sections and it isn't an easy park overall by any stretch but it can be a really fun time if you go with the right attitude. I like the place. If I start thinking I'm riding better, I just go there and remind myself of how much more work I need to do.

When i went to Wildcat last week I realized some parks are above my pay grade. I found myself walking some sections of the park especially on the downhill. The combination of not knowing the trail and the gnarl was a recipe for disaster imo. Rather than getting hurt, I played it safe.

Both Sourland and WC, imo, are not parks for a typical ride for noobs. I would only go if there are ample time to session and to learn the trail. As Jason said, if you go with the right attitude and the right ppl who will allow you to do this, then it will be fun. Otherwise, it will be a lot of hike a bike and as you know... being on the saddle is more fun.
