OOS MOGA

Absolutely very real - Sweeney is hellbent on regionalizing schools and moving public workers off pensions and healthcare...
Murphy is at odds with him about this - rare two Democrats going after each other.
Sweeney can bypass the Governor here and add almost all of these bills as a referendum of sorts and give it to the public to over turn the constitution of N.J.

The NJEA went after Sweeney to get him to lose the election, foolishly - spent $12 million- he won in a landslide.

To the victor go the soils

Sweeney needs to go he's killing the weed bill and if we are going after pensions we need to start with law makers.

There is no getting around NJ being in fiscal trouble but you can't take back commitments that have been made that people have based the rest of their lives on.

I don't want to dive any more into this but there are things I agree with in this bill but that would start it's own fight

I don’t know anything about this bill and I think that discussing this issues on this specific thread can get us on a slippery slope. I just can’t wrap my head around the first part of the statement and the second one. If someone sold you a nice piece of lot on the moon and you based you future life on that assumption who would you be upset with, the guy that sold you the moon or the one that told you it ain’t gonna happen? Again, not sure if that is the case here, but I see that happen all the time in politics and everywhere else. I am still trying to decide whose fault is that after I bought a pair of Giro Chamber I still can’t ride like Gwyn, Pinkbike for telling me I could or my wife for explaining to me That I could not. All I know is that I was planning to retire with the money I would make as a pro downhiller, now I have to work until I am 80...

Of all the threads that can handle it, it would be this one since we all get along but I just don't feel like competing with other people's views since I'm week minded.

I think there are two options we fuck over those who already completed their side of the deal or we suck it up pay the taxes till they die off but restructure the newbies going forward.

I do want to say something with no ground to stand on, but I thing those who are earning nj pensions should continue to pay taxes to nj. Benefiting from working in nj, getting paid by nj but paying taxes to fl doesn't ring right to me.

wrong can of worms?

I agree to not discuss other people's money, that's just a poor way to start a conversation. And changing anything midway is always a headache. In a crisis mode, sweeping changes are needed but it's hard deploying with political terms.

There are things I agree with as well - there’s no reason to have 3 superintendents within in 3 miles of each other ( see Bergenfield, Dumont , New Milford) or 3 police chiefs for that matter ...
There are 537 municipalities in N.J. - absurd
