Garmin watch?

Kinda thinking I want a fitness watch, for no good reason. I was looking at the Garmin Vivoactive HR or the Fenix 3. If you've got one or something similar you don't need I'd be interested.
Thanks!

get a used garmin 35 to figure out if you will actually use it.
it does all the normal stuff - even a little bit of smart phone integration.
tough too - i don't think the others are really meant for MTB with the big screens to keep you on-pace
for your long run day....😀

I've found the Vivo HR for around a hun or less used here and there. And it's not as butt ugly as the 35. Plus I have a larger wrist so the smaller stuff looks weird.

I have a forerunner 90. It’s decent but the HR is not accurate (i always use a chest strap with it. The gps isn’t great either as my normal running route distance changes drastically.

GPS/heart rate watch that neither are accurate so you have to use external sensors? At that rate why bother with the watch? I'm not trying to be a dick, it just doesn't seem to make sense to me but I'm probably missing something.

Because I bought it for running. It sucks running with a wahoo in your pants. I’d probably go with a Fenix next time. This was $75 off ebay.

I forget that people track heart rate and distance for things other than cycling. Makes more sense now.

Hey @rick81721, model that garmin wrist mount please.....

might be the dorkiest thing i've ever seen, but gotta admit it is effective - although you don't get running cadence.

I have the fenix 5x, absolutely love it. For my road bike I use a handle bar mount so I can use the navigation and not crash looking at my wrist. It has great features: track back in case you get lost, able to plot courses on the fly if you're cycling or running in a new place, plus a plethora of other ones.

@Matt_ should also have a good take on the fenix 5, from what iv gotten out of him he seems to like it. . . . hopefully he will add more. GL on your hunt.

It's on my calendar. They always run good races and I owe the promoter for bailing me out on free coffee before the SSCX race while they were doing their 72 hour race.

Pat, you in? 🙂

I'm away that month. 😀 (seriously, i'm hunting american bison that week)

They do put on good races - i've done their LM race a couple times.
