MACHO MTB Race on Long Island.
Stillwell Woods....
I've never done this one, but it's where I grew up riding as a kid. Saturday, May 19. Wife's birfday is same weekend, so this is a longshot erryyear.

I haven't ridden there in 25 years, well, maybe once or twice, but I have zero clue how the course is. Maybe @Sevenz can shed some light.

Side note, I just noticed it $75 for this race, part of which benefits the MACHO Foundation. (My Actions Can Help Others) Not really clear what they do though.

Nothing on LI is cheap...Including this race @$75...Yes it benefits a foundation but never researched to find out what they actually do. As far as the course...I LOVE STILLWELL as it has been my home trail since I started riding bikes 35yrs ago. Stillwell is by no means a destination trail...It's sandy, with no climbing besides a few short punchy ones and is most of the time a dry, eroded and clapped out. Should you come race it??? Sure why not 🙂

LTD racing this year? I just looked at their site closer, and they use progressive pricing.... price goes up as race date approaches... from $60 all he way to $85 on race day. Can I ride back to CSH after and fill my bottles down by the marina across from DP still? 😛

LTD not racing (Lacrosse Tourney) and he'd rather race Enduro and DH...

They actually capped that spring unfortunately...There is still one on the other side of the harbor at the bottom of snake hill. I use it all the time to refill on long road rides.

I got there early and rode for about an hour then met up with these dudes. It took like 3 tries to get a decent picture of Jeremy.

Since we cut back the envasives(sticker bushes) the natives have some room to grow and bloom.
