A nice snowy day today. It was spooky riding in the park today.
Nooobody around and snowing like Hell. The trails were getting
slick with the newly fallen snow and visibility was terrible. My
goggles fog/freeze up and my seeing narrows. Without them it
feels like hale on the eyeballs. I still had a great ride, the changing
conditions always keeps it interesting. Great day out!

Can't believe you rode today.
Definitely hardcore!

I've been sidelined for the past week due to getting sick. Glad I got out in the heat wave last night to get back on the board. Kudos to anyone that got out/goes out today. It won't be me 😛

Today's ride was meh, the park was closed so I had to park my car down the street at a factory and ride in.
The park crew were plowing and sanding, getting ready to open later. I rode up to the lake and checked the
trails. All trails are snowed to maybe six inches. I tried to ride a trail, but it was too difficult and slippery. Now
we need some snowmobiles. That might look rideable, but it's real slippery and I get little traction.

I think some trainer rides are still coming through. So, quoting this as a reminder to all. Let's keep BIYF about outdoor riding.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Everyone needs to remember to mark their indoor trainer rides to keep them off the club leaderboards.
I can adjust after the fact, but it would just be easier to check the box.

Bottom center of edit box - i'm too lazy to draw an arrow.

what is that on your fork? are you prepared for the zombie apocalypse?

Yesterday my wife told me I was insane, but I went for a ride in the afternoon for an hour or so. We got about 4" near me. The drifts caused that to vary. I just took the fat-bike around my neighborhood. It was tough going in the deeper stuff, but just tooling around sidewalks and parking lots of a nearby condo complex was fun enough to keep me out in the blizzard. I got back and my wife was pretending to shovel the driveway. So, I took over that task which she gladly relinquished. Dressed right, it really wasn't too bad yesterday...but I did break out the ski-goggles to avoid the pins and needles in the eyes.

Today, I actually conceded to her pleading. She simply cannot fathom that I would voluntarily go out for a ride in this weather and the goddamn morning news does nothing to help my case. I admit it is "cold as a penguin's pecker" out there, but I know how to dress for it. We do this dance every winter. When will she concede? I even tried to argue: "Why is it OK to go skiing?" and "Why is it OK for kids to go sleigh riding?" Despite finding those activities acceptable, it's just too obscure for a non-bike person to get it. Since the nag meter was pegged...I caved this time. The gym sucks!

If I am not on a bike tomorrow, I will be out flattening some trail with snow-shoes.
