Awesome
@Carson! My wife and I did the European delivery in 2014 for a 535. We took in-depth tours of the 3-series factory and the BMW museum. At the Welt, we met a couple from Hackettstown who were also taking delivery of their car they bought at a different dealership. There were people from all over the world taking delivery throughout the day.
Not sure how much you know about this European Delivery program. Essentially, you take delivery of the car at the BMW Welt in Munich. Included is 2 weeks car insurance (which can be extended to 90 days I think), and you just make arrangements to drop it at 1 of 12 or more airports, ports, etc. throughout Europe. Then they ship the cars over just as they would if you just took regular delivery in the USA.
Then, because you drove the car in Europe, is not "new" so it costs like 5 to 7% less to import than a "new" car, so that savings covers a good chunk of the cost of a trip.
We didn't do the European delivery for my M3, but made it happen for this one.
Unfortunately, BMW advises not going faster than 160kph during the engine break-in period, but driving on the Autobahn was still awesome!
Let me know if you want any more information.
