Now leaving: Comfort zone

This is awesome - can't wait to read about it. I flirted with the idea of an Appalachian trail hike when I retire but it takes too long and too much time off the bike - maybe a couple of week bike packing adventure would fit the bill. Desert terrain sounds interesting too - never camped out in one but they are beautiful in a totally different way from forests. Look out for rattlesnakes and scorpions!

If you have either some small tree clusters or some combination of rock walls and or a tree on your route....

Hammock camping will at least keep you from being a reptile's space heater... 🙂

This is going to be an awesome adventure, that I will enjoy reading about from the safety and comfort of my home

i havent been because work decided to get a raspberry pi without checking if it would work with our equipment/setup, and they expected me to set it up in spite of the fact that it doesnt even plug into anything we have.

instead i bought some other stuff to make sure my bank account stayed sad:

revelate viscacha
revelate spocket
revelate feedbags
sawyer in-line water filter
2x 70 oz platypus collapsible waterbottles

i forgot i got water treatment tablets at REI on sunday too. DRINK ALL OF THE WATER.

Just reading your posts make me think it will be fun to share some long rides with you 😀 I'll get my fatty ready asap and hit you up to see when can we arrange something.

Travel arrangements are starting to get made, getting nervous again instead of regular excited.

fox factory 34 120mm 27+ fork
i9 torch fat rear hub
wtb scrapers
wtb trail boss 3.0"
lezyne HV pump

my HP pump sucks for mtb tires, and i noticed yesterday theres a leak somewhere so it was a good opportunity to get a new HV

I wanted to use Nextie Crocodile rims but with questionable shipping time, and only having a month till go time i decided to go aluminum for now. When i got back to my desk I found out DT makes a rim with the same dimensions I was looking for in carbon and are actually a bit lighter than the WTBs, so I'm most likely gonna order those tomorrow too if they can get them.

in which case:

FS: NIB WTB Scraper Rims 27.5+

Sounds good homie. looking forward to seeing this built up!

just realized im gonna have to bleed and maybe put new hose on the front brake. really not looking forward to that.

it looks simple enough, this is just my first set of hydros ive worked on so im probably overanalyzing it

though theres a very good chance that little olive or banjo or some other tiny doohickey is gonna get lost in the abyss of my floor and i end up punching something

So inspiring - good on ya!

Now go forth and deliver unto us postings of extraordinary magnitude.

i saw a middle aged balding asian man on a bicycle today.

no helmet but he was wearing a designer black dustmask, traveling on the wrong side of the road (when there is a lovely protected bikepath) on an 8 yr old girls pink and white bmx bike going about 3mph

you?
