2015-2016 BIYF online winter complaint repository

Looks like the bonus day last week was the Ides of February....(it doesn't really mean 15, but is soundz legit)

Think the ride data is entered up to this point. Everyone take a look - easiest way is to check the sorted ride data tab on the leaderboard, and check that i've 'liked' your ride posts.

Ahh dammit sorry I'm slacking so much here! It's actually Thursday 2/18 (I think you looked at the mid day #s)

Bonus day for Week 9 (2/15 - 2/21): Thursday 2/18 (Winning number=425)

Then a few blocks further some guy in a suit was walking down the yellow line in the road. I have seen this guy before. For a distance of about 5 blocks he walks the double yellow line. Weird?

Probably hates his job/life and hoping someone will take him out one of these days.

Or maybe he used to walk tight ropes in a past life and this is the closest he can get to it these days.

Weather.....forecast wasn't good for today but then I saw the most recent leaderboard. Didn't think I'd get close to anyone else but there's @thegock 1.5 pts ahead of me. It would've been easy to sit at home but suck it up got to ride. I ride in cold no problem, rain no problem but cold rain man don't like it but got to take the chance on moving up. 45 min in gloves soaked through everything soaked through but I ride avoid Singletrack that could be soggy I probably should have stayed on Singletrack all the roads and quad trails were soft I actually had to peddle to move downhill on hollenback Rd, a few laps around the parking lot at the end to get 2 hrs

Question........do you prepare for the rain and stay dry? Like a

jacket?
Or do you forget about it and just get wet? What about your bottom half? Just wondering, because I've kind of given up trying to stay dry, whatever I use to repel the water makes me sweat and get as wet as if I did nothing. I'm just asking "the Pro"!

lol @Kaleidopete im hardly a pro at anything i just dont give a shit what its doing outside. any rain that im gonna be out in for more than like 4 minutes i just expect to get generally soaked. the key (at least this time of year) is to remain warm despite being soaked. the star of the show is a jacket that is waterproof, rain is still gonna come in through the neck and in from your sleeves no matter how hard you try, but if it keeps the wind off of your core that will undoubtedly be soaked, you should be mostly OK. my super high tech rain jacket is some $30 junk from old navy when i used to work for that dumb company, which now has a mysterious tear in the arm. time to get a "real" jacket

if its "cold" (35-40º) i have wool socks on, if its around freezing and raining i do the plastic bag over the socks, then i have my booties over all that.
pants are track pants that dont have a semblance of water resistance, but they dry super fast. freezingish i have a pair of baggy shorts on under that just to keep my junk warm. my legs really dont get cold unless its under 20 though because im a freak. shirt is a standard running shirt, if its cold i wear a long sleeve wool shirt.

Thanks! That's great. I just thought you had it super figured out, how to stay dry and be out in the shits weather. Good on you!

you could get rain paints too and put the hood over your helmet but youre still gonna wind up wet to a degree, it just keeps you warmer

the only way to stay truly try is to stay inside, but screw that noise
