+1 for all the suggestions from ChrisG,
and I'll add:
Spinal Tap
The Big Lebowski
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

Good list ChrisG! You've named a bunch that I would have suggested. We really need to have that sit down and talk one of these days.

Lebowski for sure, but we covered that Tuesday and he's seen it.

Totally disagree on Clockwork Orange and Natural Born Killers. I have seen and liked them both. But I do not think either are movies that our young friend should sit down to watch. Given the 2, I'd say watch NBK over CO. CO is goddamn brutal.

I'm...SIIIIINGING in the rain. Just SIIIIINGING in the rain...

My wife was mortified when she found out how I knew the words to that song.

cuz this is like suggestions of movies you would tell somebody they 'gotta' see... not just stuff we liked... I'll agree with the Exorcist and the Omen but while I enjoyed Freddy and Jason, etc def not 'must see' flicks imo...

within this genre though, In the Mouth of Madness immediately jumps to mind...
