I may give this a go, I may take you up on that spot in the trailer Pan. I've never done an endurance race yet, but seems like a good start! No Homo
Just checked the weather, Friday and Saturday rain in the low 50's.
Not sure if I should go with 34x18 or 34x20. Whats anybody else runnin? Are there any longer type climbs at all, or is the track mostly flat? This is going to be my first race, so I just want to try to finish. Oh yeah,26" wheels.
FWIW- I'm bringing a 17 thru 20, figure out what I'm going with after a lap on Fri. Giving it is 6 hours I'll probably run a 34x19 on the big hoops.
Well that's worth alot. I'll try to pre-ride the coarse myself.
Hey Skip.... one word....DIG DEEP.
Sorry, man. I misunderstood when you said this was your first race and you didn't know which gear would be best to run.
I guess bringing extra cogs to an area that I've never ridden might be a good idea, although I could have looked up CLIMB who are local to the area and found out what the course and area is like.
Maybe if you're that concerned with your proper gearing that you asked about and then throw out a snarky answer, you should stick with a geard bike and not shift?
Wasn't being "snarky" I'm new to this whole mountain biking thing, only been doing it for about 2 months now. Geared bike isn't an option I don't own one.Only have one extra freewheel, and its a 20 tooth,so I'll definately bring it. See ya there,I'll be the guy on the deep purple gunnar ruffian. Thanks for your replies,Oh,and my other bikes a '73 cone in a rigid frame.:getsome:
Good enough, I'll look you up. I'm bring extra cogs if you need one.
I better have a blast, turns out I'll be missing Matty's B-day ride.
Keep Saturday after T-day open, plan on burning off all the extra cals in Waway.
