My TV is failing like Windows XP, who's been in the market for new?

The GF just bought a Samsung 70DU6900 at Costco for $399. Very few of them left at Flemington Costco. It's a basic 60Hz TV but the picture is solid after some fine tuning. It's a 2024 model with no local dimming but for $399, it's half the price of the QED local dimming models. It's in a fairly bright room so it didn't seem worth it to spend more on a TV with better black levels and she doesn't watch live sports so 60Hz is fine for her. If you want to see it in the flesh, LMK.

They also have a 75 and 85 available, but not at Costco.

I've just spent the last 3 hours doing a reset. Data removal, factory reset and config without signing in. All app updates. Some new installs.

Then I signed into my Google account.
Seems to be working.

Maybe having the new config pushed to my Google rather than pulled to restore the tv helped?

Oh, Hey - just as an update and project creep.....

R8 Bill took the old TV away - fair deal, he helped me hang the new one.

Now - I can't stand that the A/V receiver isn't tightly integrated.
Picked-up an Anthem MRX-720 along with the previous TV - it has a solid HDMI switch with upscaling and all the other cool things.
But it wasn't really integrated - had to turn it on, and select inputs.

Well it is now for sale - cost me $2,500 6(?) years ago. I can probably find the receipt. I think I have the box too.
Will check. Has the acoustically tuned mic for room balancing. and remote - the control app works great.
Looks like $ 800-$1000+ on eBay, Let me know is you have any interest.

I picked-up a new Sony AN1000 - it can use the tv to project some of the voice band, so talking appears more "from the screen"
movie and sports processing sounds good. I'm still messing with the settings - it has BT and casting. No airplay - but I have an Apple tv. Sonos integration (I don't have Sonos)
and can drive 3 zones (no vid on zone 3)

Now to figure out why my subwoofer makes a buzzing noise every so often..

And I had to move the bracket down 6".....which interfered with the electric, so had to move that.
Also picked-up a fiber optic HDMI cable - not sure if this was a good idea - we will see.

My 10 year old 65" Sony Bravia stopped turning on. Was intermittent for a while, but now it wont turn on at all. Found an online vendor that has new/repaired power and mother boards for like $300 apparently that's the issue.

Was roaming around Costco and here were clearly the 4 options (wall space is not a problem.) Sales guy couldn't really tell me the difference. I'm not sure I need to spend $2k on a TV as they seem to be getting more and more disposalable. Hisense and TCL better than Samsung?

1. Samsung 75" UHD LED LCD $599 - Brightness and contrast on this one seemed lacking

2. Samsung 75" UHD QLED LCD $799

3. TCL 98" UHD QD Mini LED $1599

4. Hisense 100" 4k Mini LED $1799

Or should I be looking elsewhere?

Very happy with TCL we have a 65” in the family room from about 2-3 years ago and any of the other TVs that I replaced are also TCLs to keep things consistent with the Roku system.

Not sure if mine is a mini LED but it looks great to me.

the 100" TVs are monsters!

go stand next to one and have someone take a picture.

do the Samsungs run Google TV?
are the others WebOS?
your Bravia probably ran Android TV - Google TV is a layer on top of it which hides some of the googlies.
