So I rode all of the stages yesterday....I think it will be fun....not your typical enduro, obviously not over technical...but this is a great one if you have never done an enduro and want to check one out

How many stages? Will maps be posted pre-race?
It appears that all 5 stages are now posted on the Bikereg.com site with links to RWGPS maps. However, I noticed that stages 2, 3 & 4 all start on the same section of the White trail and turn off onto other trails. Some potential issues:
  1. Backup at the start of stages 2, 3 & 4
  2. Depending on the timing system, clocking in to the wrong stage
  3. Taking a wrong turn during the stage. When I'm full gas, I'm trying to stay in the tape not decide what turn to make.
  4. Different categories overlap, resulting in passing issues. The differential in speed during passing can be overwhelming for the people getting passed. With so many people starting on the same trail it's going to happen.

We could using Irish Spring Rd From the south for a stage 2 start, keep 3 as is and have the entry for stage 4 from white (instead of blue) and then reconnect to blue {may need to just rake in a connector).

I'm more than willing to meet up there any evening or this weekend.
And this mod is already planned.

Agree that the start of 3 stages being the same could cause issues but i hope they thought through the logistics of it. I like the trail choices in general (Blue is my favorite so cool that i get to do parts of it 3 times). Seems to be a little bit of non-mtb trail in there so some of it will be riding blind and at least 1 stage will be riding the trail opposite my normal direction. Bummed that Red and Yellow weren't incorporated somehow. I would have also liked Orange but totally get why not. Now i just gotta see if i get the wifey hall pass for the morning!

FYI - I talked with Vic (race promoter) at length. Being the intelligent guy that he is, he thought about all the concerns. As with most NJ parks, some concessions need to be made to meet the park's needs, hence the layout. I'll pre-ride the entire course this weekend as I would in the race.

If anyone is considering this race, I would say go for it! As Enduros go, this is not a difficult course; it offers some flow with a taste of NJ rocks (almost like an appetizer) and will definitely require some pedalling. With the limit on racers and a compact footprint, the course should go fairly quickly.

Hopefully, the first Enduro format in NJ in more than 10 years will get a bit of traction for future potential Enduros.
