I'm not commenting on Fauci directly as I don't know enough about the guy other than the good and bad that's spread by various pro and anti sources. Which means I know nothing cuz I haven't done any research on him (nor will I).
BUT your argument that graduating top of class makes him somehow infallible and unquestionable (I'm possibly erroneously assuming you are inferring such) is not a good argument. History is full of high achievers who went on to do very, very bad things.
Does anyone remember the una-bomber? (there are other better examples but I'm about done w/ my mental reboot for work so don't have time to find better ones)
- Early Academic Success:
Kaczynski was a gifted student, skipping two grades (sixth and eleventh) and graduating high school at age 15.
- Harvard University:
He attended Harvard University at age 16, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics with a GPA of 3.12.
- Further Education:
He later earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1967.
- Academic Career:
He taught at the University of California, Berkeley, but resigned after two years.
- Abandoned Academic Career:
He abandoned his academic career in 1969 to pursue a reclusive primitive lifestyle.
I was respondng to @JPark who brought up Dr. Anthony Fauci. Did you @rjr read his autobiography? It is quite good with respect to his fifty years of government service and four decades of fighting AIDS. Kinda like the unabomber, but different.
