Post Your Doggo [woof]

Trip the the vet Friday after she ran down the stairs like she’s done 1 million times before but this time she must have landed funny and tweaked her right front paw.

I gave it 24 hours to see how she was feeling because I didn’t feel any swelling, and she had no issues with gently flexing all her joints and didn’t rebound in any pain at all when I touched her paw - nothing. (FYI I used to be a vet tech back during college I know some basics to test for injury ). But she was still
Visibly in some pain and limping around badly.

Decided I would request an X-ray this time since she had something similar about 2 years ago but it cleared up on its own with no intervention or meds.

Doc was also stumped as he spent 10 minutes manipulating all 4 her paws and her neck/spine and agreed with me nothing broken. Likely soft tissue injury in her shoulder. Xray showed nothing that he could see so he’s sending to radiologist. He was very appreciative that she has a command to get examined (Shelby “Check”) for as nervous as she was she let him do whatever he needed without any reaction. Taught her that from very young just for vet visits. Also works at home when I cut her nails.

Vet Sent us home with Anti inflammatory for 14 days and no leash walks for 7 days see how she feels. 48 hours after vet she’s 90% better so that’s good. Just cost me $534 to be sure but she’s worth every penny.

One of mine did the same thing. After he was playing with puppy, he was hobbling on 3 legs. Took him to the vet and paid $350 and he was cured. What a faker...

Hope she gets the last 10%back quickly (dogs usually do ime).

Hopefully you have pet insurance. We are over 2k at the vet in the last month and it's been phenomenal.

Great glad she is doing better.........

We always said how we should get pet insurance and even as lifelong pet owners we never have done that - I dont even know why except procrastination.
Yes. Do it.
Even as our policy has gone up year after year, it’s still worth it.
And it lowers the threshold for “do I go to the vet?” which doesn’t hurt.

I was at a brewery the other night and met Gomez.

This is Gomez.

7lbs of furry fury.

Gomez did the greatest thing I’ve ever seen-
Walking in, unprompted, he rears up on his hind legs and starts clapping for treats.

You damn skippy he got treats.
