Post your Cat =^..^=

Related and/or unrelated - We’ve been trying to Adopt a 2nd cat for about a month now. I’ve filled out a half dozen applications and only heard back from 1 place saying a cat was no longer available. Has anyone done this with better success? The same places are also posting how many animals are euthanized every day so there seems to be a disconnect somewhere.

Have you tried Assoc. Humane in Tinton Falls? I’ve had good experiences with them, even tho I know you’re not a fan of Allaire they are close so trail ride on new cat day!

I was told to not use Petfinder and go to a place instead. Apparently they get so many requests from people through there the places won’t respond. I was also told to leave out that I own Reptiles on the Application because they’ll automatically reject it. So, starting my quest again locally with a “teacher version” of the application given to me by a friend that works at a place.

my experience is a few years back but they were very picky about the approval process and asked far to many questions of us and the vet for our existing cats. I expect as I was limiting myself to kittens there were more clients than cats.

Might be a lot easier with adult/elder cat but that is really rolling the dice with possibly adopting a psycho into a house with existing pets and their baggage.

Yeah definitely contact them directly don’t go thru Petfinder. I just wanted to see if any cats popped up there quickly.

Yea the reptile thing made it hard for us when adopting. I heard all kinds of stupid reasons. Like the cats are gonna catch salmonella and it's not healthy for the cats to watch something and not be able to catch it.
I asked the one lady if she lived in a house with no windows since the cats can look outside and see birds. Most of the rescues are going to want to come to your house for an inspection too.

We might have to rely on the Universal Cat Distribution System to come through for us, that’s how we got all of our cats. Good ole fashioned dumpster finds.

Obviously a home inspection is out, there’s no way to hide a 13ft Boa.
