I guess she’s gonna be a vegan too soon cause Kevin looks like she likes cat food.

Josie has a heating pad on the bed in another bedroom, with a view of the street. She usually sleeps on top. Recently she's been getting under the bed spread, under the heating pad.

And we decided on a name. Hit me riding into work this morning.

Maleficent.

We named her Melody 12 years ago because the sound when she purrs is like a sing song melody. Was in full sound during this “give me face scratches hoooman” session.

Today we said goodbye to Jake.

He was getting picky with eating over the last week and we saw changes. Yesterday at the vet they found fluid in his stomach and diagnosed as either liver failure and/or cancer. There was nothing we could do. We spent one last night with him.

It was almost a year to the day that we lost Cricket to cancer (tumor on his leg).

It’s been a week since we lost Jake. Phoenix seems to be adjusting. He’s more attached to us than before.
