Things that make you frown :(

And again …this is getting old 😖🤬

Tire is only 2 months old ?

Caught the edge of something in the road and POOOOFT.

Duct tape patch held for the remaining 35 miles but glad I have a spare tire in the garage from the last time this happened. 🤦🏻‍♂️

The universe is trying to tell you you shouldn't be riding on the road...

Sharing this just in case anyone else is in a similar situation.

My wife went to vote in Mt Olive on Thursday. She had received a mail in ballot but elected to vote in person, which is permissible under NJ voting regulations, but increasingly discouraged (not positive if this is a change from prior elections):

If you receive the mail in ballot but go to vote in person, you're then only allowed to vote using a provisional ballot. The poll workers told her that being able to vote using a provisional ballot was "misinformation" and all but accused her of trying to commit voter fraud. I understand the current environment around anything that has even the slightest appearance of voter fraud and have a lot of appreciation for anyone who takes their time to work facilitating our elections, but it seems like this situation could have been handled better. Ultimately they did let her fill out a provisional ballot, but I could see others in her shoes just giving up and leaving without voting.

So just a heads up in case you're in NJ and this situation applies. Make sure that you look up the regulations and know what is allowed and what is not so that your vote counts.

this is what a provisional ballot is for - among other things (ie address problem/district problem, challenges)
the computer sees that the mail-in was sent, and that it has not yet been received.
A provisional ballot is cast, and sealed separately from everything else.
it is kinda neat, cause they know it is from you, but not who you voted for. double sealed.

it is one of the more difficult procedures that the poll workers face. thing is with early voting,
there should be a supervisor there who knows exactly how the process works.

I'm working the polls Tuesday - wish me luck.

Just as I was getting back into shape from back injections and carpal tunnel surgery. I was out riding with my friend sitting behind and he wasn’t focusing on the road he yelled at the last second after he almost hit those 2/ 4 inch branches. I didn’t have enough time to avoid them now I have a separate shoulder. When I am in a longer pace line my head is usually on a swivel. I have been riding 15 years a never caused a crash. So people stay focused when you are out front.

Very tiny frown in the grand scheme of things, but since we're complaining...

Just received a "Notice of Proposed License or Registration Suspension" from the Morristown Municipal Court for an unpaid parking ticket in February of 2022. I have zero recollection of ever receiving a parking ticket in Morristown, although I did confirm that I was there on that date through (creepy) Google Timelines.

It's probably worth just paying the $45 to be done with it, but it's still annoying. I always use my phone to pay there, but the app somehow doesn't have records for that timeframe. I've also requested my credit card statement for that month, but not sure that would count as proof of anything anyway. Conveniently, the online NJ Court portal doesn't seem to be able to find a record of this so I either need to pay in person at the court or mail the payment within 14 days of the notice date, which was Oct 30 and received this afternoon.
