Going Long and Hard.

your tailight may not be visible. fix and wear bright colors. those fracking and logging trucks are no joke, better to pull off if you can. locals also like to buzz you.

air pressure in fork?

good luck to you, i wish i was going too. we have a cabin in the area and i have bikepacked between dushore and worlds end several times. we now have a relative living in dushore too. pm if you get in a bind.

That's actually my spare tail light, I run one on the back of my helmet. I also have a super dorky Apidura Reflective Vest and a Safety Pizza hanging from the rear rack.

I don't remember what the pressure is but it's whatever's on the sticker. I should probably put a few more PSI in it for all the poop though.

This looks like an awesome event. May have to throw it on the calendar for next year.

Except for this part of it...

This ride is difficult. Relentless climbing. One after another after another. 16% to 21% 😳

First day was mostly through farmland so it was super exposed to the sun, I cooked. Ran out of water before the 1st stopping point at mile 60, because it took 8-hours to get there.

Mile 75 was a secret Aid Station with Dave Pryor, he had Whoopie Pies and snacks.

My planned stop was at World’s End State Park so I plodded along. There were no more places to stop after this so I loaded up.

Got up to camp at 1:30am, quickly set up my Bivy and had a Recovery Shake, was too tired to make dinner.

Got up at 6am and was back on the bike at 7am. The next section through Loyalsock was probably my favorite part.

Once the sun came out we were back into the Farms and exposed, suck factor started to creep in pretty bad. At Mile 180 I was sitting in a Dandy and decided that I should do the 250 instead. I get what’s happening, there’s climbs, I don’t think doing 2 more days of this would gain me anything. Texted David and about a half dozen people switched, including Matt Roy so I didn’t feel bad.

Got in at Midnight and Dave was waiting for me. Was nice to have someone at the Finish.
