The Good Deals Thread

What do you all think of PlanetX Bikes? They seem to have some great deals going on, shipping is expensive to states, like 150+100 duties.

This one a real slack frame with AXS drivetrain and Pike fork, total delivered comes o around $1800.

Late reply on this but I actually have ordered/owned an On One bike for a couple years. It's their steel gravel bike called the Rujo. Shipping was fine, DHL kinda mangled the box but the build was setup well. It's been a rock solid bike for 2 years so no complaints there.

Keep an eye out for sales, they constantly discount their bikes so it's sometimes worth holding out to see if it goes lower. And I'd recommend ordering a spare derailleur hanger or two if you plan to keep the bike a while, since shipping individually is painfully expensive ($25 shipping for 2 hangers last time I did it 🙃)

Again, late reply but...with that headtube angle looks like the frame will split at the first huck to flat...kind of like the Kona ESD but worse...

Yeah I will say some of their hardtail geo's do look a bit wild. I don't have any experience riding their mountain bikes but I'd take a good long look at that before I buy any bike.

Like for example the On One Huntsman hardtail looks a lot more in line with a standard trail hardtail.

The Advent X and 9s shift so much better at about the same price. I have a Box One 11spd setup and it's just okay and far from great. The derailleur is also particularly ugly and huge.
Even the 9 is on sale for $71

I would imagine the 9-speed group sets would be good for ebikes. With a motor you don't need 12 speeds as long as the high and low ranges are the same. The wider jumps between gears won't be as noticeable with a motor. Also the fewer speeds affords thicker sprockets and chains so they can handle torque and power better.

They have an ebike version as well, not sure what the difference might be. One thing I noticed was that e version does only 1 shift at a time, while non e can do multiple shifts.

That's often the big difference. Shift 1 cog at a time so you aren't shifting multiple cogs with a ton of torque before the shift can finish.

Bikes on line has some good prices…

Stopped by the EMS in Bridgewater the other day and they are having blowout sales. They are associated with Bob Stores which is going out of business, so not sure if they are as well. Anyhoo, lots of deals. Thule stuff on sale and if I read the sign right, additional 20% off lowest price on the T2 Pro XTR would be $390. The Helium would be around $360.
