The Good Deals Thread

Who's the retailer?
Direct from Hayes/Manitou

The Manitou Mezzer Expert @ $450 is a no-brainer. I wish they had the Mattoc on sale I'd buy one for my shorter travel bike.

I paid $650 for the Mezzer Pro a few weeks ago and even with minimal setup it feels pretty amazing. Cheaper now but not in stock.

They have some pretty crazy pricing going on for a lot of their stuff, just nothing I really need at the moment.

Seems like a great deal. 4pot for $70!

This is comical timing. I was going to look up the thread from like two years ago where I'm pretty sure it was where @jShort said G2 brakes suck.

I'm been hating mine on my backup bike compared to Shimano on my main bike. Rented a bike this week with G2s and decided to buy Shimano brakes for my backup bike after hating them.

I may or may not have have said that. But they came stock on my Epic Evo, and then I put them on my stump jumper. I’ve become very proficient at bleeding SRAM brakes (they’re actually pretty easy to bleed with the kit) and now the G2s work great, I feel like anything new works really well as long as its working as it should. or maybe I’m just cheap and don’t feel like dropping $ on brakes for a bike I don’t ride 8 months of the year?

Maybe I should bleed them again, they do the the bleeding edge fitting which is nice. They feel good, modulate well just don't have enough power.

Thought they were great until the SLX brakes.

Was going to throw $$ at MTX red pads and thicker rotors to see if it's the pad compound.

But anyway @cyclops link for a full front and rear set is still a crazy deal.

I think the g2 and the guides are similar. I will say they do need to be properly bled to work well. I have a caliper rebuild kit coming for a set of mine bc they lacked power last time i rode them (these are 6 years old mind you) so definitely give that a shot before you ditch them as many of us find they are great brakes.

I do wish they had a bleeding edge port om the reservoir end as well. O well

Shimanos just seem to bite harder. I have XTs on another bike and it is a noticeable difference. I would switch all bikes to Shimano but the G2s work well enough.

Yeah I think mine work well until I hit fast trails and then the power isn't there setting up for a corner. Or scrubbing speed on steep fast trails before tech. Like they have the first 80% of the power but not that last 20%.
