Dude, a 150 yard shot with a .556 shooting anything over 69 grains is peanuts, fortunately that kid was a shit shot. With match ammo, decent glass, and a decent barrel a monkey should be able to shoot 2â groups at that distance. The wind doesnât really start âblowing it aroundâ until youâre over 300.I love the morons on tv talking about how the 147 yard shot was so easy. A head shot at that distance with an AR15 is no joke. .223 caliber gets blown around a lot over 100 yards. If the kid had used an AR10, I think the result would have been much different. This is one of the reasons the military is getting rid of the small rounds.
Agreed!Dude, a 150 yard shot with a .556 shooting anything over 69 grains is peanuts, fortunately that kid was a shit shot. Then damn it, itâs settled!I concur
lol, 2 inch groups at 150 yards with a 16 inch barrel? We will just have to agree to disagree.Dude, a 150 yard shot with a .556 shooting anything over 69 grains is peanuts, fortunately that kid was a shit shot. This gets back to the whole good thing he wasn't a formally trained marksman thing, like say Oswald was.As a 50-year-old (give or take) sitting at home at one's desk, I imagine the shot is simple. As a 20-year-old kid climbing on the roof of a building with people yelling, as you are about to assassinate the former president, I am thinking things get a little harder.
But you know, the internet is the internet.
like say Oswald was.
1) It's sort of not interesting as he didn't kill Trump. The outcome isn't much different than if he was caught before he got to the event. But it's the media so it's the big thing to talk about as they beat the old-man-Biden thing to death prior to the shooting. To me the biggest WOW factor in this whole thing is how blase we all are about this. I don't think it is a stretch to say that 80% of Americans care more that today is Amazon Prime day then they do about the former president almost getting shot.
Like this would have been a major, major historical event. And people are like, "Meh, he missed. Fucking loser," then went on scrolling their SM feeds.
Admittedly, I more or less paid no attention to it also. Actually it did help me make a decision. I have removed all the news outlets from my IG feed because I need to pretend the larger picture does not exist between now and the end of the year.
Yes, and Iâm the sniper of fly fisherman, one shot one kill even under extreme pressure.LOL, love it. You definitely are a fisherman.
But he would have missed with a hand gun too.My only problem is that there are 333 million people in the US and 433 million guns don"t get me wrong I am a former duck and small game hunter.
When they shot President Reagan with an automatic weapon they were banned for 10 yrs. called the Brady Bill. Now a AR-15 is the weapon of choice for mass shootings'
That all I wanted to say........
Hinckley used a crappy .22 caliber 6-shot German revolver when he attempted to assassinate President Reagan, not an automatic weapon. My only problem is that there are 333 million people in the US and 433 million guns don"t get me wrong I am a former duck and small game hunter.

Yes, I was wrong . thanks for the correction. I had the Brady Bill mixed up with the Federal Assault Weapons Ban the year after.Hinckley used a crappy .22 caliber 6-shot German revolver when he attempted to assassinate President Reagan, not an automatic weapon.
