Purchased an Ambient in 2010 - it lasted until 2019.
Purchased an Acurite after that - it lasted 4+ a bit
Just purchased a Sainlogic - inexpensive, with wifi integrated (I had a bridge before) - hope it makes 4 years.

The batteries in the receiver will go dead before the transmitter.
I recall changing channels seemed to help.
Bugs also take-up home in the transmitter, so it does need to be checked.
